On field for minicamp
Watson (concussion) participated during the Texans' minicamp session Tuesday, David J. Phillip of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Watson suffered a postseason-ending concussion during Houston's wild-card win over Pittsburgh in January, but he's back to full health with minicamp underway. He currently projects for a depth role in a wide receiver corps led by two-time Pro Bowler Nico Collins and 2025 second-rounder Jayden Higgins.

Watson was the third wide receiver added to the Texans' roster in a one-week span early in March. He followed the trade acquisition of Christian Kirk from Jacksonville and signing of Braxton Berrios. The 29-year-old Watson played 17 games for the Chiefs in 2024, snagging 22 of 32 targets with two touchdowns. He joins a team that revamped its receiver corps with Tank Dell (knee) expected to miss the season and Stefon Diggs moving on to New England. The WR room got even deeper after April's draft, when the Texans selected Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
No lock for 53-man roster
Jared Koch of SI.com does not include Watson on his projected 53-man roster for the Texans in 2026.
ANALYSIS
Koch has the Texans carrying six wide receivers on the 53-man roster, and there may not be space for Watson given the strong play of rookie sixth-rounder Lewis Bond. Watson signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Texans in March of 2025 after spending the three prior seasons with the Chiefs. However, he played in just three regular-season games due to a calf strain and ended the year in the league's concussion protocol. Training camp and preseason games will present Watson opportunities to make his case to stick around in Houston on the active roster.
