2025 Fantasy Outlook
Flacco's age-defying, late-career niche brings him back to Cleveland, where he has a good shot of starting Week 1. The Browns also signed Kenny Pickett and then drafted Dillon Gabriel (third round) and Shedeur Sanders (fifth round), but Flacco, even at age 40, might be the best of the bunch. It's unclear if Deshaun Watson will be available this season after undergoing a second Achilles surgery in January, and he might not start even if he gets medical clearance to play. Flacco started six games last season for the Colts, turning in serviceable numbers while going 2-4. He still went downfield plenty, posting an 8.8-yard average target depth with 13.7 percent of his attempts going at least 20 yards downfield -- both fourth in the league. His five late-season starts for the Browns in 2023 got Cleveland into the playoffs and made him a fan favorite, with Flacco averaging 323.2 passing yards on 40.8 attempts while tossing 13 TDs and eight interceptions in an offense that barely made an effort to run the ball. He won't get that kind of volume again, but something like 35 attempts per game wouldn't be surprising. The Browns don't have much at WR besides Jerry Jeudy, but they spent a third-round pick on tight end Harold Fannin, who had an FBS-high 117 catches last season and could team up with David Njoku to form a strong duo at TE. It's not a great supporting cast, and Flacco won't add rushing stats, but he might get enough volume through the air to be a serviceable second QB in superflex leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Wants to continue playing

ANALYSIS
In other words, Flacco won't be any hurry to re-sign with Cincinnati as Joe Burrow's backup, even though ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Bengals are interested in keeping the 41-year-old. If he can't find a chance to compete for a starting job, Flacco suggested that he may remain a free agent deep into the summer, waiting for injuries and/or benchings that open up job oppotunities.

Flacco signed a one-year deal in March with $4.5 million guaranteed to back up Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis. Flacco gives the Colts a veteran capable of keeping the team afloat should Richardson go down. That’s what he did last year in Cleveland, after joining the Browns in mid-November. By December, he was the starter and guided the Browns to the playoffs, earning Comeback Player of the Year honors. Flacco’s on-target rate was 67.6 percent -- 33rd of 35 QBs with at least 200 attempts -- partly because he went downfield at such a high rate -- 38.3 percent of attempts went at least 10 yards (2nd), 12.3 percent at least 20 yards (3rd). Among QBs with at least 200 attempts, his 9.3 air yards per attempt ranked second and his 7.9 YPA was sixth. Flacco still has a strong arm, and at 39, he still has something left in the tank.

The Bengals want to re-sign Flacco this offseason, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Flacco started six games with the Bengals in 2025 after coming over from the Browns and put together an admirable 13:4 TD:INT while averaging 6.5 yards per attempt. Given that performance and Joe Burrow's history of injuries, it's not surprising that the team wants Flacco back in the fold in 2026. However, the 41-year-old could also have starting opportunities around the league given the poor free agent and draft classes at quarterback.
