2026 Fantasy Outlook
McMillan joined the Bucs in 2024 as a third-round pick, starting slow before eventually scoring six TDs in Weeks 14-18. The stage appeared set for bigger things in 2025, until the Bucs re-signed Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and drafted Emeka Egbuka. The first two ended up missing a lot of time, but not as much as McMillan, who suffered a neck injury in August and was out until Week 15. He then played around half of Tampa Bay's snaps in the final four games, putting up 2-38-0, 2-15-0, 7-114-0 and 1-11-0 (178 yards on 15 targets). Most of McMillan's teammates had poor efficiency numbers during that stretch, with Tampa Bay's offense curiously falling apart when it seemed to be getting healthier. In any case, Evans is gone now, potentially leaving McMillan and third-round pick Ted Hurst to compete for one top-three spot under new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson. There's no doubt Hurst is bigger and faster, but McMillan already has chemistry with QB Baker Mayfield. Read Past Outlooks

More talent added to wideout room
McMillan is expected to face increased competition for playing time and targets after Tampa Bay used a third-round pick on Ted Hurst in the 2026 NFL Draft, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bucs continued to shake up their wide receiver room by selecting Hurst with the 84th overall pick last Friday. Over the offseason, the team has subtracted Mike Evans, who signed with the 49ers in free agency, and added Hurst to a group that still includes Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, McMillan and Tez Johnson. McMillan missed most of last season with a neck injury before making his debut in Week 15. In four regular-season games, McMillan produced a respectable 12-178-0 line on 15 targets. Egbuka faded fast after a big first half of the campaign, and Godwin didn't look anything like his old self after breaking his ankle in 2024. How this depth chart shakes out during training camp and the preseason will be something to watch for an offense that likes to throw the football.

2024
Taken 92nd overall in last year's draft, McMillan was the subject of considerable camp hype and won Tampa Bay's No. 3 WR job before Week 1, but it wasn't until December that he broke through as an important part of the offense. Heading into Week 14, he'd played eight games and missed four with injuries, catching 13 of 27 targets while failing to take advantage of injuries to Chris Godwin and then Mike Evans. The rookie then scored seven TDs over the final five games of the regular season, with at least four catches, five targets and 57 total yards in each contest, before quieting down some in a playoff loss to Washington (2-41-0). The Buccaneers decided to re-sign Godwin anyway, and then took Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka in the first round, all after losing offensive coordinator Liam Coen to Jacksonville -- a trio of developments that harm McMillan's breakout case for 2025. As if that weren't bad enough, McMillan suffered a severe neck sprain during the preseason and is now expected to miss a large chunk of the regular season. He could have some value late in the season if the Buccaneers are missing Evans, Godwin and/or Egubka once McMillan returns.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Appears likely to play Thursday
McMillan, who's yet to make his regular-season debut because of a serious neck injury that he suffered in a preseason game against the Steelers, was activated from injured reserve Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday's game against the Falcons, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McMillan had his 21-day practice window activated last week, and he's subsequently put in six limited practices. Head coach Todd Bowles has been impressed with how both McMillan and fellow sidelined receiver Mike Evans have performed, noting the duo "looked good, they looked fresh, they ran great routes, they looked like they never left." McMillan appears likely to make his season debut against Atlanta and will probably serve as the No. 4 receiver, but final confirmation on his availability will arrive when the team releases its inactives list 90 minutes prior to the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
