January 5, 2026
The Buccaneers signed Houston to a reserve/future contract Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Houston spent the entirety of the 2025 campaign as a member of the practice squad in Tampa Bay, but he failed to appear in any contests. The wide receiver will now have the chance to participate in the Buccaneers' offseason activities, and he'll look to impress in an effort to earn an opportunity with the active roster in 2026.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Houston was a training camp star in 2022 after signing as an undrafted free agent, taking advantage of the opportunities provided by an extremely thin depth chart at wide receiver, but that success didn't carry over into the regular season. A good route runner, Houston may not have the speed or physicality to be a reliable option in the NFL, and Dallas' offseason additions at wideout will make it tough for the 24-year-old to even make the roster.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Taking advantage of more reps
WRTampa Bay Buccaneers
August 2, 2025
With multiple receivers out of practice due to injury, Houston has taken advantage of the extra reps by performing well during team drills, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Veteran Mike Evans had a scheduled rest day Saturday, while the Bucs are dealing with injuries to Chris Godwin, Trey Palmer and Kameron Johnson. Their absences have opened the door for Houston to get more opportunities to audition for a depth spot on the 53-man roster, and the Western Illinois product has impressed coaches in practice. Houston spent the second half of the 2024 season on the Buccaneers' practice squad after failing to make the Giants' roster at the end of training camp in August. He last saw NFL regular-season action in 2022 as a member of the Cowboys, when he appeared in two games and logged two catches on six targets for 16 yards.
