2026 Fantasy Outlook
Hurts finished as fantasy's QB8 last season for the second consecutive year, but this time he couldn't blame injuries or a lack of pass attempts. He gained more than four pass attempts per game from the previous year, helping him throw a career-high 25 TDs even though his per-pass efficiency otherwise declined. He threw deep at a four-year high, posting a 9.0-yard average target depth (5th) as a league-high 13.2 percent of his attempts went at least 20 yards downfield (9 TDs, 2nd; 857 yards, 3rd). His rushing, however, dropped by about 20 yards per game compared to his 2021-24 average, with eight TDs (4th) being his fewest ever as a full-time starter. The Tush Push wasn’t as effective as in previous years (62.9% conversion rate vs. 82.3%), and Hurts had a career-low 7.6 percent scramble rate. The Eagles’ offensive dysfunction was another issue, and to that end, former Packers QB coach Sean Mannion was hired as offensive coordinator this offseason. Mannion promises more play-action for Hurts to target the intermediate level, which he hasn’t typically done (29th in intermediate target rate last season). The other big issue is the expected trade of A.J. Brown. The Eagles drafted WR Makai Lemon 20th overall to help replace Brown, but Lemon mostly played the slot in college and won't match Brown's downfield impact even in best-case scenarios, likely leaving DeVonta Smith to handle more deep routes. The Eagles also acquired WRs Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown for veteran depth, and they return both TE Dallas Goedert and RB Saquon Barkley as quality starters, so it won't be a total disaster if Lemon and TE Eli Stowers (second round) are slow to contribute. A rebound year for Philadelphia's talented offensive line might help Hurts' fantasy value more than anything else, especially if renewed Tush Push dominance is part of that equation. Struggles in wild-card loss
Hurts completed 20 of 35 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown while rushing five times for 14 yards in Sunday's 23-19 wild-card game loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Hurts connected with Dallas Goedert for a nine-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, but Philadelphia's offense turned the ball over on downs from San Francisco's 21-yard line with 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter when a Hurts pass intended for Goedert fell incomplete. Philadelphia's offensive inconsistencies persisted throughout the season and came back to bite the Eagles in the playoffs. Hurts threw for 3,224 yards and a 25:6 TD:INT to go with 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 16 regular-season games prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped his career playoff record to 6-4. He remains locked in as the Eagles' starting quarterback while playing on a five-year, $255 million contract signed in April of 2023.

Hurts dropped out of the Top 5 of fantasy QBs for the first time in three years last season, finishing a respectable eighth on his way to being named Super Bowl MVP. He failed to crack 3,000 yards for the first time as a full-time starter despite a career-high 68.7 completion percentage (8th) -- helped by not throwing deep as much as usual -- and tied his 2022 career high of 8.0 YPA (4th). In other words, he was again an effective passer, he just didn't get enough attempts. He lost 2.5 games to injury, but the bigger reason his attempts fell (by 7.5 per game) was the Eagles becoming a run-first powerhouse behind Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia's rush rate jumped nearly 10 percentage points compared to 2023, up to 55.7 percent, highest in the league. Hurts still got his usual 150 carries, for the third consecutive year, and scored double-digit rushing TDs for the fourth straight season, the most ever for a QB. He had a league-high 14 rushing scores (one away from matching his NFL QB record), with 10 coming on unstoppable Tush Push sneaks. The league's best offensive line lost RG Mekhi Becton this offseason, replaced by Texans disappointment Kenyon Green -- nothing O-Line coach Jeff Stoutland can't handle. All of Hurts' favorite targets return, namely WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. As long as the Tush Push is legal (attempts to ban it failed again), Hurts can thrive with only 400 pass attempts. If he pushes 450, he'll be back in the Top 5 at the position.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Future in Philly in question
Hurts may need a strong season to remain in the Eagles' plans after 2026, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Philadelphia's passing game has struggled the last two years, and a potential trade of A.J. Brown after June 1 wouldn't improve Hurts' downfield options. The Eagles offense is expected to use more play action this season, something the 27-year-old quarterback has resisted in past years, and if that doesn't provide a spark, the team may elect to move on from the 2020 second-round pick. Hurts' current contract carries $22 million in guarantees for 2027, but much like with Brown, a post-June 1 transaction next year would mitigate the cap implications of trading him.
