2026 Fantasy Outlook
TeSlaa, a third-round pick, was essentially as advertised during his rookie campaign, scoring six TDs and not doing much else. He also scored three times during the preseason, before entering Week 1 as Detroit's No. 4 receiver and scoring a TD on one of his three snaps in the opener. TeSlaa later got some chances as the No. 3 WR when Kalif Raymond missed time, and in other games the two essentially split snaps. TeSlaa ended up running 290 routes, but his 9.3 percent target rate was second-lowest among wide receivers (Arian Smith - 6.9 percent) and he also finished in the bottom 10 for yards per route run (0.82). Part of that is due to the red-zone focus, and part of it is TeSlaa not offering much besides raw talent. It now appears the Lions want to develop him further -- presumably while his target rate remains low alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. TeSlaa's combination of size (6-foot-4, 214) and speed (4.43 40) never amounted to much in college, but he's at least on to something as an NFL red-zone threat and now faces soft competition for the No. 3 WR job in Detroit (Raymond left to join Ben Johnson in Chicago). Showing maturity entering Year 2
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday at mandatory minicamp that TeSlaa has "impressed" the coaching staff this offseason and already "feels like a veteran," Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Campbell noted that he wished Detroit had gotten TeSlaa more touches as a rookie and said the receiver "became a guy [...] we had a lot of trust in" down the stretch. The 2025 third-round pick appeared in all 17 regular-season games, recording 16 catches for 239 yards and six touchdowns. While TeSlaa faces stiff competition for targets alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta (back), the "consistency" that Campbell praised could help him earn a larger role in 2026.

TeSlaa was a surprise third-round pick in April, going 70th overall after putting up just 896 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 25 games at Arkansas over the past two years. He's on the old side for his draft class, having turned 23 in February, but the Lions apparently think his raw athleticism may eventually amount to something. TeSlaa boosted his draft stock considerably at the 2025 Combine, running a 4.43 40 at 6-foot-4, 214, while ranking first among WRs in the shuttle drill (4.05 seconds), fourth in the vertical jump (39.5 inch) and sixth in the broad jump (129 inches). He then scored three touchdowns in the preseason, which seemingly played a role in the Lions trading away incumbent No. 3 receiver Tim Patrick at the end of August. It'll be tough to take routes and targets away from Amon Ra-St. Brown and Jameson Williams, but TeSlaa at least looks on track for the No. 3 gig.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Earning trust as sophomore
TeSlaa appears headed for a bigger role in the Lions offense in 2026 as he earns the trust of the coaching staff, Eric Woodyard of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2025 third-round pick got some rookie hype but wound up catching just 16 passes in 17 regular-season games last season, with six of those receptions going for touchdowns. TeSlaa is showing this offseason he's ready for more, however, with head coach Dan Campbell saying during minicamp that the wideout "feels like a veteran right now." Even so, there may not be a lot of room for TeSlaa's role to grow with receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, along with running back Jahmyr Gibbs and tight end Sam LaPorta, all fighting for targets as well.
