De'Zhaun Stribling

23-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Stribling was a mid-round pick in most mock drafts but the 33rd overall pick in the real NFL Draft, landing with the 49ers after they traded out of the first round. They probably could've kept trading down and still gotten their guy, but doubts about the team's maneuvering shouldn't be held against Stribling, who might otherwise be a trendy sleeper pick for fantasy. Concerns about his age (24 in December) are partially mitigated by solid production early in Stribling's college career, when he put up 44-471-5 (2021) and 51-602-2 (2022) as a true freshman/sophomore at Washington State. He then transferred to Oklahoma State and broke his arm in his fourth game there, setting back his NFL trajectory. Stribling could've entered the 2025 Draft after rebounding for 52-882-6 in 2024, but he instead moved to Ole Miss and put up 55-811-6 for a playoff team. He now heads to San Francisco, where Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall top the depth chart at wide receiver, backed by veterans Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson. Stribling's 4.36 speed (2026 Combine) provides something none of the others can offer, but playing time could be a point of frustration even if he makes big plays in Kyle Shanahan's offense. Pick motivated by intangibles?
WRSan Francisco 49ers
May 7, 2026
The 49ers' selection of Stribling at No. 33 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft was partially motivated by the organization's strong belief in his personality, leadership and work ethic, according to Matt Barrow of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
It also doesn't hurt to have 4.36 speed at 6-foot-2, 207 pounds. Mock drafters nonetheless projected Stribling as a mid-round pick, for the most part, due to concerns about age (24 in December) and his lack of an elite statistical season in college (career highs of 882 yards and six TDs). Reasonable arguments both, though the latter concern is somewhat mitigated by his combination of early success (44-471-5 in 2021 at Washington State) and strong cumulative production (2,964 career receiving yards across three schools). It sounds like the 49ers are even more impressed by Stribling's intangibles/personality, having given him their "gold helmet" label -- a designation they use each year for a handful of prospects viewed as the best culture fits. The franchise clearly is invested in Stribling's success, but his immediate future may entail a not-so-glamorous competition for the No. 3 WR job in an offense that prefers FB Kyle Juszczyk over a third WR outside of clear passing situations. The 49ers also have Christian Kirk, Demarcus Robinson and 2025 fourth-round pick Jordan Watkins hoping to compete for depth roles behind Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall, both of whom missed large portions of 2025.

Picked by Vegas in Reuter mock
WRFree Agent
March 21, 2026
In his latest mock draft, Chad Reuter of NFL.com has the Raiders selecting Stribling in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 36th overall.
ANALYSIS
The Raiders are expected to take Indiana's Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick. Reuter has Las Vegas giving the young quarterback a young weapon in the passing game in Stribling, the latter of whom logged 55 catches for 811 yards and six touchdowns across 15 games in 2025 with Ole Miss. He should contribute immediately on offense as a competitive run blocker who has the size and acceleration to beat opposing secondaries over the top, per Lance Zierlein of NFL.com. If he is selected by the Raiders, Stribling would be competing against Jack Bech, Dont'e Thornton, Dareke Young and others for the WR3 job behind Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor.
