2026 Fantasy Outlook
A Week 1 starter after the Titans made him the top pick in the 2025 draft, Ward doesn't have much to show for his rookie year other than experience. His on-target and completion percentages both ranked 31st in the league, and those came with rarely throwing the ball deep as just 8.1 percent of his attempts traveled 20-plus yards (28th). The result was a league-low 5.9 YPA and 15 TD passes in 17 games. Ward didn't have much help. Titans receivers dropped 24 passes (26th), and the offensive line allowed a league-high 13 unblocked sacks as he was brought down 55 times (2nd most). He also didn't capitalize on the pressure with scramble yards (less than 10 rushing yards per game), but instead fumbled 11 times, including a league-high seven lost. Coach Brian Callahan didn't survive midseason, adding to the instability. The Titans hired defensive-minded head coach Robert Saleh, with former Giants HC Brian Daboll the new offensive coordinator. Daboll didn't impress in New York as head coach, but his offensive scheme should at least be better than what Ward endured last year. The Titans signed Wan'Dale Robinson and drafted Carnell Tate fourth overall, giving Ward a pair of wide receivers with potential to offer huge upgrades. If Calvin Ridley returns healthy from a broken leg, that's a third capable starter, or at least someone to compete with second-year pros Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor. The situation has improved considerably since last year, but Ward's lack of rushing means he'll need huge gains in passing efficiency just to become a decent QB2 for fantasy. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Dropped 10 pounds since last season
Ward noted Thursday that he's he's lost 10 pounds during the offseason by focusing on his diet, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
"I think it'll help me with durability...just being faster, getting up in the pocket, and trying to play my speed," said Ward, who Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site indicates has recovered from an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder suffered in Week 18 last season. With that in mind, coach Robert Saleh said Thursday of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, "his arm's perfectly healthy. He's slinging the ball. I mean, he's got some good velocity on it." As the coming campaign approaches, Ward will be working with a WR corps that welcomes back Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, and that was notably bolstered by the signing of free agent Wan'Dale Robinson and addition of Carnell Tate via the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 Draft.

The first pick in the 2025 draft, Ward is expected to start Week 1 for the Titans. His arm strength is already on par with the best in the league, allowing him to throw with good velocity from a variety of arm slots to make plays all over the field. Ward is more of a pocket passer than a true dual threat, but he's mobile enough to scramble around and make something out of nothing. That sometimes leads to running into sacks, one of the few criticisms from scouts. He's 6-foot-2, 219, with a quick release and plenty of experience -- he set the NCAA record with 158 career TD passes, including 39 last season. The Titans brought back last year's coaching staff but remade their offensive line in free agency, signing right guard Kevin Zeitler and left tackle Dan Moore. Although Moore is a better run blocker than pass blocker, his arrival allows 2024 first-round pick JC Latham to move back to right tackle, where he played exclusively in college. Calvin Ridley is a legitimate threat downfield, coming off consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, but the Titans don't have much else to threaten defenses. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine left for Miami in the offseason; 2022 first-round bust Treylon Burks is coming back from an ACL tear; free-agent additions Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson haven't done much in recent years; and TE Chig Okonkwo has never topped 528 yards or three TDs in a season. The Titans drafted two WRs in the fourth round, Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor, but their skill-position personnel still look subpar overall. Even if Ward plays reasonably well, he probably won't add enough rushing stats to push for QB1 fantasy status until he gets more help.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could run more this season
Ward has lost weight this offseason to prepare for a Brian Daboll offensive scheme that has tended to lean on its quarterback's running ability, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daboll, the Titans' new offensive coordinator, has led three different QBs to average more than seven rushing attempts per game, including Jaxson Dart with the Giants last season and Josh Allen with the Bills in 2021. Ward may not have the upside on the ground that either of them do, but the 2025 first overall pick did gain 159 yards and two touchdowns on 39 totes as a rookie, and he could have more to offer as a runner in the NFL.
