2025 Fantasy Outlook
Trubisky has developed into a competent backup and boasts the tools (rushing ability and arm strength to threaten downfield) to attempt a facsimile impression of Josh Allen if required. In his only notable action in 2024, a Week 18 loss against the Patriots that had no impact on Buffalo's playoff standing, Trubisky looked serviceable while completing 15 of 21 passes for 101 yards and a score (plus four carries for 12 yards) before ceding the ball to No. 3 QB Mike White in the third quarter. White's continued presence as a third-stringer provides helpful continuity for this quarterback room. Read Past Outlooks

Leads backups to victory in Week 18
Trubisky completed 22 of 29 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns during Sunday's 35-8 win over the Jets. He also rushed five times for five yards.
ANALYSIS
Trubisky lined up under center after Josh Allen took the first snap of Week 18, keeping his streak of 135 consecutive starts intact. Upon taking over for Allen, Trubisky led Buffalo's offense effortlessly against an outmatched New York defense, turning in one of the best statistical performances of his nine-year NFL career. He'll revert to a backup role beginning with Sunday's wild-card round matchup against the Jaguars, but the Bills can feel confident in Trubisky's ability to capably pilot this offense in the event that he's called upon to fill in for Allen for a stretch during the postseason. Trubisky concludes the regular season with four appearances, in which span completed a combined 25 of 35 pass attempts for 313 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing nine times for six yards.

Trubisky is back with the Bills after a two-year hiatus in Pittsburgh. After spending 2021 as Josh Allen’s backup, Trubisky left for the Steelers, but he wasn’t good enough to hold off Kenny Pickett nor even Mason Rudolph. His 12-game run in Pittsburgh ended with eight TD passes and 10 interceptions with a 6.6 YPA. The only way he’ll see the field in Buffalo is if Allen is injured, of course. Trubisky has a big arm, but accuracy is not his strong suit. And while he was a running threat his first four years in Chicago, he’s averaged just 2.4 yards per rush the last three years. With Buffalo’s thin receiver room outside of rookie Keon Coleman, Trubisky wouldn’t seem to have much upside in a game-manager role should he take the field.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Won't start Week 18
Trubisky isn't slated to start Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets, but he should be in line to play most of the game, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Getzenberg reports Josh Allen, who missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday due to a foot injury, doesn't carry an injury designation into the weekend and is expected to start. However, with the Bills locked into one of the AFC's three wild-card spots, head coach Sean McDermott isn't expected to wait long before summoning Trubisky, who stated that while a specific plan for Sunday's game hasn't been clearly outlined to him, he "got a good amount of reps throughout the week" in practice and feels comfortable executing in "whatever fashion it is."
