2026 Fantasy Outlook
Koziol, a rookie fifth-round pick, is the catch-first counterpart to second-round pick Nate Boerkircher, who made just 38 catches across his entire college career. Koziol, meanwhile, had four straight seasons with at least 34 receptions for Ball State (2022-24) and Houston (2025), peaking his final two years with receiving lines of 94-839-8 and 74-727-6. The 23-year-old is a converted wide receiver, sporting an unusually lanky frame (6-foot-7, 247) by TE standards. His Combine workouts -- 4.7 40, 36.5-inch vertical, 122-inch broad jump -- were all solid, but not elite, leaving Koziol in a position where he may need to improve on special teams to stick around on Jacksonville's active roster. He'll start off behind Brenton Strange, at the very least, with Boerkircher and Quintin Morris also competing for TE snaps. Read Past Outlooks
Building early momentum
Koziol has been a standout during the early portion of the Jaguars' offseason program, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Koziol, a rookie fifth-round pick, has generated more buzz during spring practices than second-rounder Nate Boerkircher. Tight ends coach Richard Angulo described Koziol as being "a little bit more polished as a pass catcher" and mentioned the rookie's "ball skills and his size and range," at 6-foot-6, 247 pounds. Brenton Strange remains entrenched as Jacksonville's No. 1 tight end, and Boerkircher's blocking ability may give him an edge for the No. 2 role, but Koziol is making an early case for opportunities in Liam Coen's offense, which -- per Garry Smits of the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union -- is expected to feature more multi-TE looks in 2026.

Could be rookie sleeper
Koziol, whom the Jaguars selected out of Houston in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, has the potential to make an impact as a rookie, Eric Edholm of NFL.com opines.
ANALYSIS
Edholm notes the Jaguars invested a much higher pick -- a second-rounder -- in Texas A&M's Nate Boerkircher at tight end, but the analyst asserts it's Koziol who's opened eyes this offseason. Koziol isn't much of an in-line tight end, instead profiling as much better suited for slot duty. However, he's a massive target at 6-foot-6, 247 pounds, and he was a prolific pass catcher over his last two college seasons with a 168-1,566-14 line on 222 targets across 25 total games in that span with Ball State and the Cougars.
