Antonio Williams

21-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Badly in need of help alongside Terry McLaurin, the Commanders drafted Williams early in the third round (71st overall) this spring. He was a four-year contributor at Clemson, averaging between 43 and 65 receiving yards each season while playing more than three-fourths of his snaps in the slot. Williams' most productive season came in 2024, when he had a 75-904-11 receiving line and 7-101-1 rushing line in 14 games. He also returned punts for the Tigers, but he never scored a TD and averaged a modest 9.0 yards per return. The general theme is volume over explosiveness, with Williams averaging between 10.2 and 12.1 yards per reception each season. He might average less than that as a slot specialist in the NFL, but a strong showing at the 2026 Combine (4.41 40, 39.5-inch vertical) hints at some chance of handling perimeter work. For now, the Commanders likely will have Williams compete with Luke McCaffrey for the slot role during training camp, badly needing someone to step up alongside No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin. The Commanders selected Williams in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 71st overall.
ANALYSIS
Williams primarily operated as an inside receiver during his four-year college career at Clemson. He was limited to just 10 games during his senior year due to a hamstring injury, but his 2024 campaign was his best, when he was named to the All-ACC First-Team with 75 catches for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns over 14 games, though he also recorded eight drops. Williams was one of the speedier receivers available in the draft, which translates to all three levels of the field, and he also has experience as a punt returner which could help him with his snap count as a rookie. Terry McLaurin leads the Commanders' wide receiver room, but with a strong offseason and training camp, Williams has a chance to win the WR2 job, considering his main competition comes from Luke McCaffrey (collarbone), Treylon Burks and Dyami Brown at the moment.

ANALYSIS
The Commanders selected Williams in the third round in April, and he should immediately have the chance to contribute as the second receiver behind Terry McLaurin. Williams is well-regarded for his detailed route running, his ability to adjust to his quarterback's needs mid-play and his ability to play both in the slot and outside. Williams surpassed 600 receiving yards in three of his four collegiate seasons at Clemson.
