2024 Fantasy Outlook
Brown showed signs of breaking out in 2022 while with the Cowboys. In that season, he posted 555 yards and three touchdowns. In his first year with the Texans, Brown had a wild season. Due to injuries, the receiver played two games through Week 7. In Weeks 8-10, Brown was on fire, averaging 5.3 catches and 127 yards. Another injury cost Brown two games.Upon his return, he had three games with fewer than 10 yards and one with 82 yards and a touchdown. The overall picture tells us that Brown is very talented but not very reliable. After the Texans traded for Stefon Diggs, Brown will be competing for the No. 4 role. As a result, he would need others to miss time to be viewed as a fantasy factor. Read Past Outlooks

Placed on injured reserve
Brown (kidney) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This was purely a transactional move, as Brown is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a kidney injury back in Week 13. The Commanders activated Jamison Crowder (calf) off injured reserve, but expect Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus to get first crack at filling the role opposite Terry McLaurin in the team's passing attack.

Brown posted career highs across the board during his fifth season in Dallas in 2022, including a significant upgrade in snaps. After the Cowboys traded Amari Cooper to Cleveland and lost Cedrick Wilson to the Dolphins, the 2017 seventh-rounder was presented his biggest opportunity as a pro, en route to finishing with 43 catches for 555 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games. Despite what can be perceived as a career year, the Cowboys didn't put up much resistance in letting him walk. Brown's production dropped off over the final stretch and had just seven catches over the last three regular season games and two playoff contests. With Houston, Brown's experience could work in his favor in a mostly inexperienced wideout room.

Brown is expected to be placed on injured reserve and is likely to miss the rest of the season with what head coach Dan Quinn described as a "significant internal injury" Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout apparently suffered the injury during the Week 13 win over the Titans on Dec. 1. The injury was originally thought to be to Brown's ribs, but further testing over the Commanders' Week 14 bye revealed that the receiver injured his kidney. Brown's 35 receptions rank third among Washington's pass catchers, and his 12.9 yards per reception are second to only Terry McLaurin.
