LoL Rankings: 2016 ADC Spring Split Rankings

This article is part of our LoL Rankings series.

Much like mid laners, Attack Damage Carries (ADCs) is a role in which you should look to own two players. On average ADCs end up with the most kills which keeps them towards the top of the fantasy production charts. As you construct your roster you will want to have two ADCs and two mid laners, one starter at each position and one backup to either start in the flex role or rotate in on a weekly basis.

*Note: At this time the AD Carry's for TIP and Elements are unknown.

Tier 1 (in alphabetical order): Doublelift, Zven (Niels), Rekkles

Doublelift, Zven, and Rekkles are my top three players in the ADC role for the 2016 Spring Split. Doublelift moves to TSM from CLG this year after a dominant 2015 Summer Split. He finished first in kills, second in assists, and fourth in creep score as the main carry for CLG last year. His move to TSM leaves the team with two of the top carries across all players in the LCS last year and we'll have to see how it affects both Doublelift and Bjergsen. I would expect Doublelift to be a top ADC again this year, as the team played him as the main carry at IEM San Jose a month ago.

Zven had a great first split in the LCS last Summer as he ended the campaign as the Summer Split Rookie of the Split award winner. This guy looks like he's on the verge of greatness after playing great for Origen at Worlds and at IEM San Jose where his team easily won the competition. Zven finished the Summer fourth in kills, sixth in assists, and tenth in cs. I think he will improve going forward and Origen have shown that they will use him as their main carry threat as they build team compositions around the ADC more often than not.

Rekkles is starting the 2016 season with a retooled FNATIC team after losing three members to North America. Even so, FNATIC have been one of the premier organizations since the start of League of Legends and they should be a favorite to win the European LCS once again. Rekkles finished last Summer second in kills, third in assists, and ninth in creep score. Look for him and Febiven to be FNATIC's main carry threats this year as he remains one of the best ADCs across the LCS.

Tier 2: Altec, Apollo, Hjarnan, Piglet, Sneaky, WildTurtle

SneakyCloud 918.957345925753

This next tier is the one has a bit of a drop off from the top three players but still offers good value. If you miss out on one of the top tier players in the role try to grab two players from this tier when building your team.

Altec had a very good Summer Split as a member of Gravity Gaming. He finished seventh in kills, ninth in assists, and led the LCS in CS. His move to NRG could be beneficial as the team has built a strong roster that may look to deploy a hyper aggressive style leading to good fantasy numbers. As long as the time has had time to synergize during the offseason Altec is a good shout for another good fantasy split.

Like Altec, Apollo also had a very strong split as a member of Team Impulse. The marksman finished sixth in kills, first in assists, and thirteenth in creep score. Moving to Dignitas for the 2016 season, Apollo could be in a good position to have a solid fantasy season if DIG can find some consistency as a team. Last Summer they struggled to find a consistent playstyle and dominated some games while being awful in others.

Hjarnan at times looked like one of the best ADCs in Europe last year for H2k. A steady presence in the bot lane led to him finishing third in kills, seventh in assists, and eight in creep score. He moves to Vitality gaming, who have built a strong roster for their debut season, including Hjarnan's former H2k teammate kaSing as their support. The carry over to Vitality should provide Hjarnan with the tools necessary to be a top performing ADC again this year.

Like Hjarnan, Piglet is a marksman that could push into the top tier in the new season. The Team Liquid ADC finished fifth in kills, fourth in assists and second in CS during the 2015 Summer Split. He has an aggressive style in the bot lane that led to good fantasy production across all categories. Team Liquid should have another good season, meaning Piglet should be in line for good fantasy upside moving into the new year.

Sneaky has proved to be a steady player, if not overwhelming, throughout his career with Cloud 9. I like C9 to bounce back from a down split last Summer which should lead to an uptick in fantasy production for their players. Sneaky finished tenth in kills, eleventh in assists, and seventh in CS during the Summer Split. One issue that plagued Cloud 9 last season was their lack of real production in terms of fantasy points, so while that is a concern for drafting Sneaky, you may be able to get him on the cheap in your drafts.

The final player in this tier may come as a surprise as WildTurtle had an awful Summer Split for TSM. He was very good in the Spring of 2015 and on a new team with his roster spot fully insured, I like him as a bounce back option this year. He finished fourteenth in kills, twelfth in assists, but third in creep score during the Summer. On a strong roster with a lot of attention focused towards Huni in the top lane, look for WildTurtle to be the benefactor of some good fantasy numbers this year.

Tier 3: Stixxay, Emperor, Adryh, Kobbe, Steelback, FORG1VEN

**Keith played one game for TSM in the Summer Split
***N/A represents a player who did not play in the LCS during the 2015 Summer Split

In this last tier, the players represent options to watch during the 2016 season, with Adryh, Emperor, Freeze and FORG1VEN playing the LCS last split and Steelback playing for FNATIC during the 2015 Spring Split. There is some upside here the players I just mentioned and they are certainly worth rostering if not starting right away.

Adryh had an up and down split for GIANTS! who were a team capable of producing high scoring fantasy games at times and equally capable of being dominated in others. He finished eighth in kills, thirteenth in assists and seventeenth in CS during the Summer Split. He's worth drafting as he is playable in good matchups. Even with Pepiinero as the team's main carry threat, Adryh proved to be able to produce good fantasy games last split.

Playing in nine games for TDK last split, Emperor showed some good fantasy upside that makes him an intriguing option for a full split this season. Although he only played in half the games he finished eighteenth in kills, twentieth in assists and CS. He had some good showings on Vayne and Tristana over the Summer and looks like he could be a high risk high reward fantasy player this year on a Gamers 2 team who may not be near the top of the league but look to be competitive.

FORG1VEN is a player who needs no real introduction as he's been a well known player most of his career. He took a real step backwards during the 2015 Summer Split finishing twentieth in kills (or two behind Emperor despite playing seven more games), sixteenth in assists, but eleventh in CS. Recently FORG1VEN has turned into a farm machine, bullying players during the laning phase and far exceeding his opponents creep score as time progresses. Despite that he hasn't turned it into kills or assists in the past half year and it's a worrying trend going forward. He could be in line for a bounce back on a strong H2k roster and should be owned to start the year for his upside.

As for the remaining three players, Steelback has a history of being a good player in the LCS after leading the league in Points Per Game while playing for FNATIC in the 2015 Spring Split. While UoL won't be the same team as 2015 FNATIC, you're looking at a mid table team who will be useable for fantasy in certain matchups. Keith has also proved a useful LCS quality ADC in the past as a substitute for TSM and Team Liquid. Echo Fox have put together a decent roster with Keith and Froggen as the headline names, so Keith may be in position to have a good split from the bottom lane.
