Tri-Nation T20I Series
Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe
Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka

Preview:
Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe in the first T20I of the Tri-Nation series, which also features Afghanistan, at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Friday. Bangladesh would be eager to put up a string performance after losing their one-off Test against Afghanistan at home. But their T20I record in the last one year hasn't been impressive as well. They won only five out of the 16 matches they played last year and, hence, they would like to come up with a better performance with the T20 World Cup coming up next year. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have lost 12 out of their 14 T20Is and with their recent suspension by ICC, things don't look to be that bright for them.
Weather Conditions: Heavy showers have been forecasted in Dhaka throughout the week. Looking at the conditions, we might only get a shortened match on Friday at most.
Pitch conditions: The average first innings score at this ground in T20Is is 150. Spinners get quite a lot of purchase but the conditions could be totally different this time with so much rain around. The spinners will find it hard to grip the ball if there is even a little amount of moisture in the field. Pacers might have their say in such conditions.
Probable Playing XIs:
Bangladesh:
Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Mushfiqur Rahim (wk),

Top Picks:
Wicket-Keeper: Mushfiqur Rahim (10.5 Cr)
The stumper is also one of Bangladesh's best batsmen. He bats at four and scores big for Bangladesh more often than not. Rahim averaged 48.33 in eight T20I innings last year and also scored two fifties.
Batsman: Craig Ervine (9.5 Cr)
The Zimbabwean has been averaging 70.33 with a total tally of 211 runs in four T20Is this year, and that includes three scores of fifty-plus as well.
All-Rounder: Shakib Al Hasan (11 Cr)
The Bangladeshi all-rounder is one of the best shorter format players in the world at the moment. He had a terrific all-round outing in the World Cup and would be eager to repeat his heroics in this match as well.
Bowler: Mustafizur Rahman (9 Cr)
The left-arm pacer is Bangladesh's main wicket-taker. He has a total of 48 wickets in 30 T20Is and, that too, at an excellent average and strike-rate of 17.66 and 13.8.
Captaincy Options (in order of priority): Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim
