The inaugural edition of The Hundred is set to begin in less than a week's time and excitement is reaching new heights amongst the fans who are eagerly waiting to see the action in the newest format of the game.
The tournament was set to be organized in 2020 but because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed for 12 months.
The competition will feature eight teams and the final will be played on August 21 at the Lord's Cricket Ground.

Liam Livingstone (Birmingham Phoenix)
First in the list features Birmingham Phoenix's all-rounder Liam Livingstone. The 27-year-old has been in prolific form in white-ball cricket over the recent past and showcased his talent with the bat in particular against Pakistan in the ongoing T20I series where he scored a brilliant century in the first fixture which was the fastest by any England batsman in a T20 international. Livingstone will be hoping to make his mark in the inaugural edition of the competition to increase his chances of playing in this year's International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup.

The 25-year-old is a clean hitter of the ball and has already showcased his talent in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Karachi Kings and Big Bash League (BBL) for Perth Scorchers. Clarke will be representing Manchester Originals in the inaugural edition of The Hundred and he will be hoping to make a name for himself to be considered in England's T20I team in the future.
Sam Billings (Oval Invincibles)
Fourth in the list features wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings. The 30-year-old was once rated as the next big thing in white-ball cricket for England but has fallen in the pecking order in the recent past. Therefore, Billings will be hoping to use the first edition of The Hundred to remind selectors of England's national team about his ability to make a difference in shorter formats.
Tom Banton (Welsh Fire)
Last in the list features young top-order batsman Tom Banton. The 22-year-old is famous for his hard and has a strike-rate of more than 157 in the T20 format. However, most of those performances came away from home as he has already featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL), PSL and BBL for Kolkata Knight Riders, Brisbane Heat, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. Since this tournament will be played in England, Banton will be hoping to use the conditions to good affect and present himself as one of the players who should be on the plane for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
