Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Down 0-2, the Bucks looked like a different team on their home floor, defeating the Suns in convincing fashion in Game 3. Wednesday brings Game 4 of the series and another opportunity to play Yahoo's single-game contest.

In addition to selecting two flex players, there are three multiplier positions in this single-game format. A player slotted into the Megastar spot will earn double their fantasy points scored. The Superstar spot will earn 1.5X their fantasy points scored. Finally, the Star will earn 1.2X their fantasy points scored. With that in mind, let's discuss some players to consider.

MULTIPLIERS

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($55): Giannis has shown no ill effects from his knee injury the previous round, scoring at least 52.4 Yahoo points in each of the three games against the Suns. He has back-to-back games with at least 40 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, scoring 71.4 and 67.6 Yahoo points, respectively. With all of the minutes and shot attempts that he can handle likely coming his way, he's as safe as it gets for one of the multiplier positions.

Chris Paul ($34): After storming out of the Gate with 51.3 Yahoo points in Game 1, Paul didn't top 36.8 Yahoo points in either of the last two games. He did only log 34 minutes in Game 3, though, because of the lopsided score. He's shot 56.6 percent from the field in this series and dished out at least eight assists in each contest, so with the expectation that the Suns can be more competitive in this game, Paul could bounce back with a juicy stat line.

Jrue Holiday ($32): After struggling from the field in the first two games of the series, Holiday bounced back to shoot 8-for-14 on his way to 21 points in Game 3. He logged 40 minutes despite the blowout score, also posting five rebounds, nine assists, a steal and a block. While his efficiency has fluctuated, his heavy dose of playing time and ability to contribute in other areas has helped him score at least 39.8 Yahoo points in six of his last nine games.

FLEX PLAYS

Jae Crowder ($18): One of the lone bright spots for the Suns in Game 3 was Crowder, who drained six of his seven attempts from behind the arc on his way to scoring 18 points. He also hauled in six rebounds after totaling 19 of them over the first two games. He plays a ton, and the opposing defense can't give him much attention with Paul, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton also on the floor, so don't be surprised if he provides value again, provided he can stay hot from behind the arc.

Cameron Johnson ($10): He may have been somewhat aided by the lopsided score, but Johnson ended up playing 30 minutes in Game 3. The Suns might also need him to spend more time on the floor moving forward with Dario Saric (knee) out for the season. Johnson's upside isn't that high given his limited role within the Suns' offense, but he's scored at last 22.0 Yahoo points in three of the last four games, so he should at least be on your radar.

PLAYER TO AVOID

Mikal Bridges ($18): Talk about two contrasting performances. Bridges was a key part of the Suns' success in Game 2, scoring 27 points on 15 shot attempts and eight free-throw attempts. However, he disappeared in Game 3, scoring four points on just four shot attempts. As bad as that was, that's actually been more of the norm for him lately, given that he's scored nine or fewer points in four of the last six games. He shot 54.3 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from behind the arc during the regular season, so he has the ability to go off on any given night. However, with so many talented scorers around him, it's not much of a surprise that he's scored 19.7 Yahoo points or fewer in four of the last five games.
