This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.
We have a busy night ahead of us Wednesday in the NBA with 10 games on the schedule. That leaves us with no shortage of options on Yahoo, so let's jump right in and discuss some players to target, as well as a few to avoid, for your entry.
GUARDS
Zach LaVine, CHI vs. MEM ($31): The Bulls are still struggling to find their way, but that hasn't stopped LaVine from being productive. He's scored at least 34.7 Yahoo points in four of his last five games and even topped 50 Yahoo points twice during that stretch. He's one of the focal points of their offense and will be taking on a Grizzlies team that has played at the sixth-fastest pace in the league, so he should receive plenty of opportunities to be productive once again.
De'Anthony Melton, MEM at CHI ($12): With the Grizzlies missing Ja Morant (back), Tyus Jones has taken over as their starting point guard. He's had one good and one bad performance in the role and will likely be a popular option at just $12. However, don't sleep on Melton. He's now the primary backup at the point and has scored 37.4 and 30.8 Yahoo points, respectively, since Morant went down.
Guard to Avoid
Ty Jerome, PHO at ORL ($20): The pricing for Jerome seems odds. He's been sidelined with a sprained ankle and was finally able to make his debut Monday, playing 12 minutes off the bench. He did score 22.6 Yahoo points and could be in line for added playing time if Ricky Rubio (hand), who is listed as questionable, is unable to play. However, if Rubio does take the floor, this is way too much to spend on a player who will likely play limited minutes and is facing one of the better defensive teams in the league.
FORWARDS
Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM at CHI ($22): Jackson is a risky option in DFS because of his propensity to get into foul trouble. However, the Grizzlies really need him to take on added playing time with Brandon Clarke (hip) out. With Clarke and Jonas Valanciunas (illness) out against the Pacers on Monday, Jackson scored 45.8 Yahoo points across 34 minutes. The Bulls are not a good defensive team up front, so it should come as little surprise that Jackson scored 41.2 Yahoo points against them earlier this season. If he can stay out of foul trouble, he could be in line for a terrific performance.
Garrett Temple, BKN at ATL ($13): Temple has become an important part of the Nets with both Kyrie Irving (shoulder) and Caris LeVert (thumb) out, leaving him to average 32 minutes across his last 11 games. While his numbers aren't off the charts, he has averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.4 three-pointers during that stretch. Add his secure playing time to the Hawks allowing the third-most points per game and he's at least worth considering at such a cheap price.
Forward to Avoid
Draymond Green, GS at CHA ($21): Green made the most of his 23 minutes against the Magic on Sunday, scoring 30.3 Yahoo points. The problem is that the Warriors plan to limit him to 27 minutes a night for the rest of the season, so his upside is going to remain limited. With Jackson priced just a dollar more and carrying significantly higher upside, passing on Green might be the best route to take.
CENTERS
Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN at DAL ($50): It's not difficult to make a case for deploying Towns any given night. His floor is as high as any player in the league with him averaging 51.3 Yahoo points a game. He's really taken his game to the next level from behind the arc, averaging 3.8 three-pointers per contest. If you're looking to spend up at the center spot, look no further.
Richaun Holmes, SAC at POR ($22): Marvin Bagley's (thumb) impending return might have a negative impact on Holmes' production, but we don't have to worry about that for this game since Bagley won't play. Holmes has played well since taking on a starting role and has scored at least 33 Yahoo points in three of his last five contests. The Blazers have allowed the third-most rebounds per game, so Holmes might be able to do enough damage on the boards to leave him with a productive stat line.
Center to Avoid
Andre Drummond, DET vs. MIL ($48): Drummond absolutely dominated the Cavaliers on Tuesday on his way to 63.8 Yahoo points. He wasn't just a great source for points and rebounds since he also contributed four assists, five steals and four blocks in that contest. The problem here is that he now has to play on consecutive nights against one of the best teams in the league. The last time he faced the Bucks, they limited him to 39.4 Yahoo points. With some blowout potential also in the mix here, it might be best to just spend the two extra dollars to roll with Towns.
