Nate Eaton

With 11 steals in 44 major-league games, Eaton's speed is the most interesting thing about him. Where he plays in the Royals' defensive structure is yet to be determined, but his .264/.331/.387 slash line across 122 plate appearances last year would suggest he deserves a longer look in a relatively uninspiring lineup if he can repeat it. A natural outfielder, he'd probably be best suited to challenge Edward Olivares in right field or push MJ Melendez from left field to catcher to begin 2023. Eaton's also played on the left side of the infield -- third base is likely up for grabs. He hit 13 home runs and added 23 steals in 91 minor-league contests last year, but his power didn't come up from Triple-A when he became a regular for the Royals late in the season. His 24.6 percent strikeout rate and 8.6 walk rate in the majors are already passable, so Eaton looks like he could have some sleeper potential in fantasy as a reliable source of speed.
