Tuesday doesn't bring a ton of action in the NBA with only three games on the schedule. However, with the Mavericks, Nuggets and Lakers among the teams in action, there are still plenty of big names to target in DFS. Let's discuss them, as well as some cheaper options to target on Yahoo.
GUARDS
Luka Doncic, DAL at DEN ($45): To say Doncic has started off the season well is an understatement. He already has one triple-double across three games and fell an assist shy of recording another one in his last game against the Blazers. In all, he's scored at least 49.3 Yahoo points in each contest. His price is climbing, but his ability to contribute across the board still makes him extremely appealing.
Kendrick Nunn, MIA vs. ATL ($15): At first glance, Nunn looks like a huge bargain. He's only five dollars above the minimum price despite scoring at least 34.8 Yahoo points in each of his first three games. He's been a scoring machine, posting at least 24 points twice. The only question here is how the return of Jimmy Butler will impact his playing time and production. Even with Butler back in the fold, the Heat need three-point shooting and are still without Dion Waiters, so Nunn could still provide significant value.
Guard to Avoid
Gary Harris, DEN vs. DAL ($18): The good news with Harris is that he's averaging 33 minutes across the Nuggets' first three games after averaging only 29 minutes a night last season. The bad news is that his usage rate so far is only 17.2 percent. He already doesn't provide much outside of points and steals, so any dip in shot attempts is going to have a significant impact on his fantasy value. The Nuggets don't need him to shoot more with their stellar depth, so don't be surprised to see him continue to provide limited production.
FORWARDS
Jimmy Butler, MIA vs. ATL ($33): Butler will make his Heat debut after missing the first three games due to the birth of his child. He's the prized offseason acquisition for the team and is expected to be the focal point of their offense. The last time we saw a team focus their attack around him was with the Bulls in the 2016-17 season. Butler shined in the role, averaging 23.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.9 steals. Take advantage of him at this reasonable price while you still can.
Jae Crowder, MEM at LAL ($14): The move from the Jazz to the Grizzlies has been a positive one for Crowder so far. He only averaged 27 minutes a game last season while mostly coming off of the bench, but he's started all three games and averaged 33 minutes with his new squad. The result has been him recording at least 24 Yahoo points in each contest. His upside is limited, but he has a reasonably high floor and his cheap price can go a long way towards helping you stuff a couple of stars into your lineup.
Forward to Avoid
Jabari Parker, ATL at MIA ($21): Parker makes this list for the second straight day after scoring just 8.8 Yahoo points Monday versus the Sixers. He still hasn't topped 19.2 Yahoo points in a game and will continue to have a limited role coming off of the bench for the Hawks. At this price, he's an easy pass.
CENTERS
Anthony Davis, LAL vs. MEM ($54): The initial results of Davis joining the Lakers have been great in terms of his fantasy production. He has a whopping 33.9 percent usage rate across three games, helping him average 25 points a night. His impact has been felt in far more areas than just the scoring column, as well, with him averaging 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.3 blocks. His ceiling is as high as anyone on this slate, so he might be worth paying up for.
Bam Adebayo, MIA vs. ATL ($21): As far as really cheap centers go, finding one that is appealing isn't that easy. If you want to fade Davis, then Adebayo is a somewhat cost-effective option to consider. He's scored at least 43.3 Yahoo points in back-to-back games and is locked into the starting center job for the Heat with Hassan Whiteside no longer on the team. Not only is he a threat for a double-double every night, but he also has 16 assists through three games.
Center to Avoid
Alex Len, ATL at MIA ($16): The fact that Len is starting for the Hawks speaks more about their lack of depth then Len's prowess. He's struggled to make much of an impact, partly because he hasn't played more than 24 minutes in any of their first three games. With the likelihood that he continues to see limited playing time Tuesday, there really isn't an argument to be made for using him in DFS.
