We had a massive Saturday card, and it's left us with crumbs for today. We actually have just four games, with three making up the main card. That means the pickings will be slim, but one matchup stands out above the rest. That happens to be the Houston-Sacramento rematch, in which the clubs combined for 240 points on Friday. The other contests should also offer plenty of fantasy value, so let's go ahead and get into it.
Guards
De'Aaron Fox, SAC vs. HOU ($30)
Fox was really struggling two weeks ago, but something's changed the last few games. The speedy point guard has scored at least 37 Yahoo! points in six of his last eight with 42 or more in four of those. That's the stud we've been waiting to see, and it's clear his value has been slow to adjust. Getting to face Houston is the best part of this with the Rockets ranked first in pace, 29th in defensive efficiency and last in points allowed. That was on full display when Fox finished with 27 points, six rebounds and eight assists in their meeting on Friday.
Kevin Porter Jr, HOU at SAC ($22)
Let's keep our game-stack rolling with the Rockets starting point guard. KPJ has been inconsistent all season, but this opportunity is too good to pass up. We say that because Sacramento sits eighth in pace, 27th in defensive efficiency and 28th in points allowed. That's amazing for a talented player like this, with Porter providing 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in this matchup on Friday. He's displayed that sort of ability throughout his short career, and he's inevitably going to stuff the stat sheet with both teams running up and down the floor.
Guard to Avoid
Klay Thompson, GSW at MIN ($16)
Thompson is awesome and we love he's back after missing nearly three years, but he's not going to be in my DFS lineups anytime soon. We were already skeptical by the fact he missed so much time, but it's even more concerning with his strict minutes cap. Klay hasn't logged more than 20 minutes in any game thus far, and it doesn't look like the Warriors will let him go past that mark. That's even more worrisome since his shot has been slow to come around at 36 percent from the field so far. His minute cap and poor shooting limit his upside, and it makes him impossible to trust for DFS for now.
Forwards
Jae'Sean Tate, HOU at SAC ($23)
The Rockets have been one of the weaker clubs for most of the season, but it's certainly no fault of Tate's. He's been a consummate professional, taking his game to another level having produced at least 24 Yahoo! points in 11 of his last 15 contests while combining for 83.2 Y! over his last two. That most recent 47-point gem came in this sensational matchup with Sacramento, and he's yet another player who benefits from this ridiculous 240-point projected total.
Marvin Bagley III, SAC vs. HOU ($14)
Let's finish off our stack with Bagley. He was the surprise of Friday's shootout amassing 26 points and 13 rebounds in one of the best performances of his career. He actually got most of the center minutes over Alex Len and Chimezie Metu, stepping up with Richaun Holmes and Damian Jones also sidelined. We're unclear exactly who will play for the Kings, but it's clear Bagley will see at least 20-25 minutes and clear out most of the boards. As long as he does that at this salary, he'll be one of the top values in what should become the best matchup in fantasy basketball.
Forward to Avoid
Bojan Bogdanovic, UTA at DEN ($20)
Bojan has been in this fade section all season, and it works more often than not. What makes him so tough to trust is his lack of peripheral statistics. This sharpshooter can drop 20 raw points on any given night, but he doesn't do anything else. In fact, Bogdanovic has only cracked six rebounds three times this year with four assists or fewer in all but one outing. That doesn't even include the fact he's only recorded one block on the season, making him tough to trust with all of Utah's players expected to be healthy. Denver is no easy matchup either ranking 25th in pace and ninth in total defense.
Centers
Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. UTA ($56)
We had Jokic in here on Saturday in a nine-game card, so you know we're going right back to the well with just three matchups. The Joker is quite simply the best option in fantasy, leading the NBA with 56 Yahoo! points per contest. More importantly, he's posted at least 40 fantasy points in all but one game this season. A matchup with Utah looks worrisome on the surface, but Jokic has taken care of this defense throughout his career. In fact, he's averaging 61 Y! points against them dating back three years.
Kevon Looney, GSW at MIN ($12)
Looney is tough to trust with so many weapons in Golden State, but he's found an excellent role with Draymond Green on the sidelines. In the four outings since Green went down, Looney is averaging 7.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. That equates to 28 Yahoo! points per game, a tremendous total from such an affordable player. The matchup with Minnesota might be the best part about this play with the T'Wolves allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season. That's no surprise with Karl-Anthony Towns' terrible defense, mainly since that guarantees Looney 25-30 minutes to oppose him.
Center to Avoid
Richaun Holmes, SAC vs. HOU ($18)
It sounds like Holmes might return here. And while we would usually love him in this spot, there's no reason to think he'll be looking at a full workload. We say that because Holmes has only played five games since the beginning of December logging 29 minutes or fewer in all of those. His production was shot with that limited workload, too and he scored 22 or fewer fantasy points in all of those. That is not the stud we've become accustomed to, and it'd be hard to imagine Holmes seeing more than 20-25 minutes after missing the last two weeks due to COVID.
