FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are 10 games on the slate Monday, and after we saw several teams resting key players over the weekend, it's become even more important to stay up to date on all the injuries and lineup changes happening as the regular season winds down.

Monday Value Plays

Point Guard

Jameer Nelson, DEN, $3,800:Ty Lawson will sit out Monday for rest, leaving Nelson the likely candidate to start at point guard against Memphis. The Nuggets are also resting Kenneth Faried and Danilo Gallinari, so Nelson is going to have to pick up the slack on the offensive end. He played well in his most recent start (Friday against Golden State) with 17 points, seven assists, and four rebounds to combine for 31.3 FanDuel points. It's not often you get a viable point guard at $3,800, but Nelson fits the bill Monday. He becomes an even better value play if he doesn't have to face Mike Conley, who is nursing an ankle injury.

Others to consider: George Hill, IND, $6,600 vs. TOR; Isaiah Canaan, PHI, $4,900 at BOS

Shooting Guard

Rodney Stuckey, IND, $6,300: Stuckey came back to earth on Saturday with 12 points after scoring 34 and 25 points in his previous two outings. He's averaging just under 30 minutes per game in March despite the fact he's not a starter. Stuckey is easily Indiana's best pure scorer off the bench, and although his salary has ballooned due to his recent hot streak, he still carries a moderate salary. If you disregard his 15 FD points outing Saturday, Stuckey had 25+ FD points in four straight and six of his last seven. Throw in the fact that he's averaging 17.5 points on 50 percent shooting and 5.0 rebounds against Toronto this season and Stuckey becomes a good candidate to produce up to his $6,300 salary.

Others to consider: J.R Smith, CLE, $5,500 at MIA (especially if LeBron sits out). Will Barton, DEN, $5,100 at MEM

Small Forward

Rodney Hood, UTA, $4,300: Hood has started two straight games and has risen to the occasion each time with 25.2 and 26.7 FD points. He set two new career-highs in scoring last week with 17 against the Knicks followed by 20 against the Rockets. If Hood is in the starting lineup again Monday, he's a great bargain that gives you plenty of flexibility to spend elsewhere. Keep an eye out for when Utah's starting lineup is confirmed, but Hood's recent production should warrant another start.

Others to consider: Michael Beasley, MIA, $4,100 vs. CLE (if you're desperate); Wilson Chandler, DEN, $5,700 at MEM

Power Forward

J.J. Hickson, DEN, $4,000: Hickson's status should be checked going into Monday's game, but with Faried and Gallinari resting and Darrell Arthur (calf) doubtful to play, there should be a lot of minutes available to Hickson regardless of whether or not he starts against the Grizzlies. The matchup isn't great, but with so many of the Nuggets' frontcourt players being rested or sat down due to injury, it's easy to throw Hickson into some tournaments to try and capitalize on his upside as it is relative to his low salary.

Others to consider: Jerami Grant, PHI, $3,700 at BOS; Elton Brand, ATL, $3,500 at SAC; Adreian Payne, MIN, $4,200 vs. BKN; Nerlens Noel, PHI, $7,500 at BOS

Center

Enes Kanter, OKC, $6,200:Serge Ibaka has missed the Thunder's last two games with knee soreness, and in Ibaka's absence, Kanter has put up 39.6 and 45.2 FD point outings. Coach Scott Brooks has finally found a center who can score the ball, and with Kevin Durant (foot) still sidelined, Kanter has been getting tons of shots. He's also worked the offensive glass well lately to earn extra possessions and post big rebounding numbers, pulling down 15 and 18 rebounds in his last two games. At $6,200, Kanter is a safe play with great upside.

Others to consider: DeMarcus Cousins, SAC, $10,900 vs. ATL; Rudy Gobert, UTA, $8,200 vs. CHA; Brook Lopez, BKN, $6,900 at MIN; Gorgui Dieng, MIN, $6,200 vs. BKN; Jusuf Nurkic, DEN, $5,200 at MEM
