Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Fry was limited to DH in 2025 after undergoing elbow surgery in November of 2024. He was limited to just 157 plate appearances last season, which ended in late September after getting hit by a pitch in his face and resulted in several nasal fractures. Fry is expected to be healthy for 2026 and should return to playing a utility role that includes catcher and the infield/outfield corners. It's unfair to draw conclusions based on his performance in 2025, when Fry experienced a sharp hike in K% (36.9) with a decrease in BB% (5.7) and OPS (.592). His barrel and hard-hit rates, along with a criminally low .212 BABIP, suggest a return to the production levels that earned him an All-Star spot in 2024. Read Past Outlooks
Provides early, only offense
Fry served as the designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Royals.
Analysis
Fry put Cleveland on the board early with a two-run homer in the second inning, but that's all the team could do against Kansas City pitching. It was Fry's third time going deep in his last six games. He doesn't get nearly the number of opportunities as others on the team, but Fry is second on the Guardians with an .892 OPS over 51 plate appearances.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Fry began the 2024 season as a short-side platoon bat for manager Stephen Vogt but started to earn some reps against right-handers, too, after sporting a 1.114 OPS through the first two months of the season. He ultimately did most of his damage versus left-handed pitching (.996 OPS, nine home runs), although Fry did smack a walk-off home run against righty reliever Clay Holmes in the ALCS. The 29-year-old played much of the year with a UCL tear in his right elbow and had surgery after the season. The operation will sideline Fry for the first month or two of the season and will prevent him from playing the field until 2026. Fry will have catcher, first base and outfield eligibility in 2025, so he could have some fantasy value once he's recovered.
