Fulford is a....leg-first catcher? His defensive abilities are all below average, and he did not show much at the plate in 120 plate appearance last season with Colorado, but a 91st percentile sprint speed along with 10 steals in 2024 in Double-A is interesting if you are in a deep two-catcher NL-Only league looking for upside with your last pick or last dollar at the draft table. Hunter Goodman is in no danger of losing his playing time behind the plate as he is easily the more superior of the two catchers both with the bat and behind the dish. Fulford does have options, so he could also be sent back to Triple-A in favor of Drew Romo. Ultimately, your goal is to not have to look at this situation for your second catcher, but if things go awry, Fulford seems to be the options with a modicum of upside in a limited role. Fulford went 0-for-2 with a walk, two runs and two stolen bases in a 7-6 victory versus the Rangers on Monday.

Analysis
Fulford was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of the contest and got a start as the Rockies' DH. He reached on a fielder's choice in the fourth inning and subsequently stole second base before coming home on a Brenton Doyle single. Fulford then walked in the sixth, swiped second base again and scored another run. The catcher came into Monday with one stolen base over 41 career big-league games, but he did rank in the 91st percentile in sprint speed last season and swiped double-digit bags two separate years in the minors.
