Arda Guler
20-Year-Old
Real Madrid
La Liga
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Guler had something of a breakout with Turkey at Euro 2024 prior to the 2024/25 season. However, given the depth of Real Madrid, he struggled to get on the pitch and barely surpassed 1,000 minutes in league play. He scored three times and added four assists, and maybe more impressively created 40 chances and took 39 shots in that limited time. He featured a significant amount in the Club World Cup under new manager Xabi Alonso, and while it may be a stretch to assume he's a guaranteed starter in the new season, it wouldn't be surprising if his numbers really jumped.
Takes four shots versus Benfica
Guler generated four shots (two on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Tuesday's 1-0 win versus Benfica.
ANALYSIS
Guler made his usual impact in midfield and added a decent attacking production during the victory, tying his season-high mark of four shots. However, he extended a streak of four games without a goal or assist across all competitions. He's expected to get significant playing time at least while Jude Bellingham (thigh) is sidelined. In that case, the Turk's offensive upside will be based on his set-piece tasks and his talent for shooting and passing from distance.
