Drops decision as huge favorite
FeatherweightUFC
June 20, 2026
Aswell lost to Gaston Bolanos via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a north of a -400 favorite, that should just about do it for Aswell in terms of making any sort of impact at 145 pounds. As is the case in most of Aswell's fights, he had his moments, but was unable to sustain it over the course of 15 minutes. Like his teammate, UFC Flyweight Champion Joshua Van, Aswell is ridiculously aggressive on the feet. The high pace was enough for the Texan to win Round 3, but he was already down 20-18 on all three scorecards and in need of a stoppage. Aswell has youth on his side as he won't turn 26 years of age until late September, but with losses in three of his first four UFC bouts, he may have to return to the regional scene before getting another chance with the company.

Booked vs. Bolanos
FeatherweightUFC
June 15, 2026
Aswell will face Gaston Bolanos in a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 119 on June 20, per Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.
ANALYSIS
Aswell currently sits at 1-2 in the UFC, having dropped his last bout at the hands of Luke Riley back in March. He'll look to even his record against a fighter in Bolanos who's had one more career UFC match and is an even 2-2 in the promotion.
Inconsistent ways continue
FeatherweightUFC
March 21, 2026
Aswell lost to Luke Riley via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
It was a reasonable showing from Aswell on the road as a +180 underdog. He was willing to stand in the pocket in an attempt to match Riley blow-for-blow, but the bigger, more damaging shots clearly came from the latter. Aswell certainly isn't the most technical guy around, but he battles in there. Ultimately, the 25-year-old Texan figures to have trouble with better competition simply because he doesn't have one elite skill to fall back upon in the event of trouble. He's alternated losses and wins in his first three UFC fights.
London fight scheduled
FeatherweightUFC
February 2, 2026
Aswell is scheduled to compete against Luke Riley in a featherweight fight at UFC London on March 21, per Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
ANALYSIS
Aswell will fight an Englishman in London for his second UFC fight. Both fighters are coming off impressive debuts for the promotion, with the former having recently finished Lucas Almeida in Rio.
Dominates in first UFC victory
FeatherweightUFC
October 11, 2025
Aswell defeated Lucas Almeida via TKO (strikes) at 1:42 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Aswell found himself a -300 favorite over Almeida despite the fact he dropped a unanimous decision to Bolaji Oki in his UFC debut in May. It turned out to be nowhere near a high enough number considering how dominant he looked here. Aswell pushed forward without resistance, firing off power shots that damaged Almeida. He was credited with two knockouts in addition to the brutal ground-and-pound which forced referee Jason Herzog to finally step in. Aswell had plenty of success in his Fury FC days and is still just turned 25 years old, so he's worth keeping an eye on moving forward.

Aswell is scheduled to compete against Lucas Almeida in a featherweight fight at UFC Rio on Oct. 11, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
For the UFC promotion, Aswell debuted on May 31 at UFC Vegas 107. He defeated Bolaji Oki on short notice, getting another shot at fighting with the company because of his willingness to save the bout.
