Rise at bantamweight continues
Figueiredo defeated Marlon Vera via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Figh tNight on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Figueiredo remains perfect in his first three fights at bantamweight, and he showed off his entire arsenal in this matchup. He won the opening round on the strength of a pair of successful takedowns. Vera regained some momentum in Round 2, but Figueiredo landed some massive power shots in Round 3, including a knockdown, to earn the decision. Figgy clearly has the skill set and talent to compete in a loaded bantamweight division. The biggest thing working against him at this point is the fact he will be 37 years of age this coming December. The Brazilian needs to do whatever is necessary to get back in the Octagon ASAP in hopes of continuing this momentum.

Will take on Chito Vera
Figueiredo will face Marlon Vera in a bantamweight bout at UFC Abu Dhabi on Aug. 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Figueiredo defeated Cody Garbrandt via submission (rear-naked choke) in his latest fight, and he remains perfect in the bantamweight division with a 2-0 record. However, Figueiredo hasn't faced a challenge as steep as Vera, and it remains to be seen how he'll handle this level of opposition.

Remains perfect at bantamweight
Figueiredo defeated Cody Garbrandt via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:02 of Round 2 at UFC 300 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Two fights into his bantamweight run, it's quite clear Figueiredo is going to be a problem at 135 pounds. He likely lost a close Round 1 that was spent entirely on the feet, but he powered in for an early Round 2 takedown, and the fight essentially ended the second Garbrandt hit the mat. Figueiredo flattened Cody out without issue and worked for a rear-naked choke which closed the show. Massive for the flyweight division, Figueiredo's speed, power and athleticism has carried over to the higher weight class. He's a massive addition to what is already arguably the deepest division in the sport today.

Draws fight with Garbrandt
Figueiredo is scheduled to face Cody Garbrandt in a bantamweight fight at the UFC's March 30 event in Atlantic City, UFC president Dana White announced Friday via social media.
ANALYSIS
Figueiredo owns a 22-3-1 pro record and is a former flyweight champion who's looking to make a name for himself by moving up a class. Facing a touch challenger such as Garbrandt won't be easy, but Figueiredo had a strong debut in his new home by defeating Rob Font on Dec. 2. "Deus Da Guerra" has gone 11-3-1 at the UFC level in his career.

Shines in bantamweight debut
Figueiredo defeated Rob Font via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Making his bantamweight debut after a legendary run at flyweight that included winning the 125-pound title, Figueiredo looked brilliant in his new weight class. He appeared to have more energy, and his power, always a strength at flyweight, carried over. He landed the more damaging shots throughout the course of the fight and took advantage of Font's notoriously poor takedown defense, connecting on 4-of-7 attempts for 4:02 worth of control time. 135 pounds is arguably the deepest division in the game today, but Figueiredo has never been lacking in terms of talent and ability. He's going to be a threat in his new home.
