Shuts down undefeated prospect
BantamweightUFC
June 6, 2026
Mitchell defeated Santiago Luna via submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) at 4:52 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Originally scheduled to face Victor Henry (undisclosed), Mitchell agreed to this opponent change about a week ago. Bryce's striking has never really developed, but he remains a high-end MMA grappler, as Luna found out here. Mitchell racked up 11:40 worth of control time despite landing just two takedowns. His positional edge on the mat was masterful. At 31 years old, Bryce had trouble winning the "big" fight throughout the course of his career, but he's still a threat at 135 pounds. He is 4-3 in his past seven fights dating back to December 2022.

Opponent switched to Luna
BantamweightUFC
May 28, 2026
Mitchell will now fight Santiago Luna at UFC Vegas 118 on June 6, Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell was originally scheduled to face Victor Henry at UFC Vegas 118, but Henry has been forced out of the bout for undisclosed reasons. Mitchell will now take on the up-and-coming Luna who has won each of his first eight professional fights. It's late notice for both Mitchell and Luna, but at least Mitchell was already preparing on fighting on this date.

Wins bantamweight debut
BantamweightUFC
July 26, 2025
Mitchell defeated Said Nurmagomedov via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Struggling of late in his natural weight class of featherweight, Mitchell moved down to bantamweight here in search of some more success. It worked, but didn't come easy. Bryce started slowly, getting dropped by a knee from Nurmagomedov in Round 1 before slowly finding his range. Offensively, Mitchell is a one-dimensional wrestler with solid cardio. Both of those traits served him well here. Bryce racked up 8:07 worth of control time and three takedowns over the course of the final two rounds to secure the win. The 30-year-old Arkansas native has alternated wins and losses in his past seven fights dating back to March 2022 and seems quite likely to remain at 135 pounds moving forward.

ANALYSIS
Mitchell will look to get his 2025 back on track. Jean Silva established himself as a top-15 UFC featherweight contender by submitting Thug Nasty with a ninja choke in April.
Taps out to Jean Silva
BantamweightUFC
April 12, 2025
Mitchell lost to Jean Silva via submission (ninja choke) at 3:52 of Round 2 at UFC 314 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately, but he had a chance to silent his critics here. It didn't happen, and now his future appears to be firmly up in the air. To Bryce's credit, he knew his only chance of winning was to ground Silva, and he fired off 14 takedown attempts as a result. The issue was that he landed only one, and even then he found himself having to fight off a very deep guillotine choke. Mitchell eventually appeared to tire before getting submitted late in Round 2. His personal views aside, Bryce has legitimate talent. The problem is he competes in arguably the deepest division in the sport and has alternated wins and losses in his past six bouts. That's not going to get the job done.
