We're just a few days away from March. Let's end February with a bang. There are seven NHL games starting at 7 p.m. ET or later. To get you prepped for your DFS contests, here are some players you might want to have in your lineup. Hopefully they can help you enjoy the final Saturday of the month.
SLATE PREVIEW
We've got three teams on a back-to-back Saturday. The Avalanche and Golden Knights are squaring off, and both had to travel for this one. However, Vegas does get to be at home. The Kings will be at home, but the Islanders are rested. And only two teams in the bottom-10 in GAA are in action.
GOALIES
Ilya Sorokin, NYI at LOS ($7,600): The Kings are in the middle of the league in goals per game, but they're also playing for the second straight night. That's enough to give me the push to go with Sorokin. The Russian netminder has been excellent with a 2.44 GAA and .920 save percentage.
Matt Murray, OTT vs. MON ($7,100): This is assuming Murray and his .919 save percentage are back from a brief paternity leave Saturday. Otherwise, I'm good with having backup Anton Forsberg ($7,100) on my DFS roster. The Canadiens have managed a paltry 2.29 goals per game and are 4-16-6 on the road.
VALUE PLAYS
Mathew Barzal, NYI at LOS ($6,300): Barzal has posted 36 points, but 14 have come in his last 16 outings. He also has 10 points with the extra man. The Kings maintain a bottom-five penalty kill, and they are also on the second day of a back-to-back.
Michael Bunting, TOR at DET ($5,600): Bunting doesn't play much on the power play, but being on Toronto's top line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner has its advantages. In his first year with the Leafs, he's recorded 17 goals and 18 assists. The Wings have a 3.46 GAA, which is bottom-eight in the NHL.
LINE STACKS TO CONSIDER
Bruins at Sharks: Erik Haula (C - $4,200), David Pastrnak (W - $8,600), Taylor Hall (W - $5,800)
Don't adjust your screen. Pastrnak recently dropped down to Boston's second line so Jake DeBrusk could skate on the top unit. DeBrusk has produced four goals in his last three games, and Pastrnak can get it done with just about anyone, so they may just keep it going. Hall and Pastrnak represent the top two Bruins in terms of starting shifts in the offensive zone, so this also helps Haula. As for the Sharks, James Reimer enters with a 3.42 GAA and .904 save percentage over his last 10 games. Adin Hill is out, so Reimer will almost assuredly be in net.
Haula has 18 points, but with a 5.9 shooting percentage. And he now gets two talented wingers. Pasta is his usual self with 28 goals on 226 shots on net. He also has a three-game goal streak. Over his last five, Hall has recorded five points and 21 shots on net.
Senators vs. Canadiens: Tim Stutzle (C - $4,800), Brady Tkachuk (W - $6,800), Adam Gaudette (W - $4,000)
The Canadiens have a 3.79 GAA, which is the worst by a wide margin. They've also allowed 34.3 shots on net per outing and carry a bottom-five penalty kill. The Senators don't have much depth and I honestly wish Connor Brown was on the top line instead of Gaudette, but I'm going with their lead trio.
Stutzle produced an underrated rookie campaign with 29 points in 53 games in his age-18 season. This year, he's at 27 points, including a goal in four of his last five and 10 power-play points. Both Tkachuk brothers are prolific shooters and Brady has 17 goals with 171 pucks on net. Gaudette is along for the ride, but he does have an assist in each of his last two games.
DEFENSE
Morgan Rielly, TOR at DET ($6,300): Keeping it simple and throwing down the salary for Rielly against the Red Wings and their 3.46 GAA. Rielly has posted 43 points and has directed 133 shots on net. He also has 15 points with the extra man, and the Wings have a bottom-eight penalty kill.
Mike Reilly, BOS at SAN ($4,000): Two defensemen with similar last names spelled slightly differently. Reilly has three points in his last four games. He's also put 85 shots on goal. Reilly also plays on Boston's top pairing with Charlie McAvoy and has averaged 19:05 per game. As I noted earlier, James Reimer comes in with a 3.42 GAA and .904 save percentage across his last 10 appearances.
