Achilles
May 22, 2026
Robertson-Harris suffered an Achilles tear during Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With Robertson-Harris presumably out for most or all of the 2026 season, New York will need more snaps out of veteran signings DJ Reader and Shelby Harris or youngsters Darius Alexander and Bobby Jamison-Travis. The team traded star DT Dexter Lawrence to Cincinnati earlier this offseason, leaving new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson without a clear standout on the interior line. The Giants are counting on edge rushers Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux to provide the vast majority of sacks and pressures this season. Robertson-Harris has just 19.0 sacks in 134 regular-season games, but he's made 79 starts, including 17 last year in New York.

Robertson-Harris had a reduced role in stints last season with Jacksonville and Seattle, playing a combined 17 games but starting only twice and logging just 398 defensive snaps - his fewest since 2020. The UTEP product inked a two-year deal with the Giants in March and may get a chance for increased playing time. He'll likely compete for a starting role with fellow veteran Rakeem Nunez-Roches and rookie third-rounder Darius Alexander.
Robertson-Harris' third year in Jacksonville went much like his first two, and he finished 2023 with 34 tackles (16 solo) and a career-high 3.5 sacks in 17 games. The veteran defensive lineman doesn't make a major impact in the box score, but he's a key piece of Jacksonville's defensive front.
Robertson-Harris had 45 tackles, three sacks and four passes defensed in 17 games for the Jags last season, prompting the organization to reward him with a three-year, $21.6 million extension in February. The 30-year-old likely won't have much IDP value but should be an anchor on Jacksonville's defensive line.
The veteran defensive lineman joined Jacksonville on a three-year deal last year, and he totaled 37 tackles and three sacks over 14 games. Robertson-Harris should remain in a starting role this season, but he shouldn't be expected to significantly increase his production, given those numbers from 2021 set or tied his career highs.
Robertson-Harris spent the first four seasons of his career in Chicago before joining Jacksonville on a three-year, $24.4 million deal during the offseason. A 2016 UDFA, he has 7.5 career sacks and provides solid run defense.
Robertson-Harris is expected to back up Akiem Hicks at left defensive end after playing 552 snaps last year while Hicks missed most of the season. Despite his significant playing time, he posted 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks, so it's unlikely he'll be someone to consider in IDP drafts, though should Hicks miss time again this season, the 27-year-old could be a low-upside fantasy option in deeper leagues.

Suffers likely season-ending injury
DTNew York Giants
May 23, 2026
Robertson-Harris suffered a torn Achilles during the Giants' Thursday OTA workout and is projected to miss the 2026 season, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Robertson-Harris was being counted on for veteran leadership on a defensive line that saw Dexter Lawrence depart to the Bengals via trade earlier this offseason. However, while taking first-team reps at Thursday's workout, Robertson-Harris grabbed the back of his right leg and left the field before eventually being diagnosed with the Achilles tear. Robertson-Harris started all 17 regular-season games for the Giants in 2025 and finished with 35 total tackles and one defensed pass.
