ANALYSIS
Pickens is headed to New York after having been waived by the Chiefs on Monday. The 26-year-old recorded five tackles (three solo) across three games with Kansas City last season and will likely compete for a depth role with the Giants.

After being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft, Pickens was a rotational player who was on the field for 251 snaps in 17 games. On the season, the defensive tackle recorded 20 tackles and a forced fumble. If his snap share increases, he could emerge as a solid interior lineman in IDP leagues.

The Bears selected Pickens with the 64th pick in the 2023 draft, so they made a solid investment in addressing their interior defensive line. In past years, Chicago struggled with interior defense, both in terms of stopping the run and pressuring opposing quarterbacks. In the short term, Pickens may find himself competing with free-agent addition Andrew Billings, who is a six year veteran. However, if Pickens lives up to his draft capital early on, he could take the lead in what will likely be a defensive line rotation.
