Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
A seventh-round pick in this year's draft, Ewers joins a Miami team that is financially committed to Zach Wilson as the backup to Tua Tagovailoa for at least 2025. But after three starting seasons at Texas following a one-year stint at Ohio State, Ewers has plenty of experience and boasts more upside than the typical seventh-rounder, as injuries contributed to his slide. This season, however, he's likely headed to the practice squad. Read Past Outlooks

Another encouraging showing Sunday
Ewers completed 14 of 22 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and added four rushes for five yards in the Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Miami.
ANALYSIS
Ewers operated in what was mostly a game-manager role, but he flashed with a 63-yard touchdown pass to a wide open Theo Wease in the first quarter to answer an early Buccaneers touchdown before adding an 11-yard scoring strike to Greg Dulcich with just under two minutes remaining in the first half. The rookie signal-caller also managed to avoid turnovers altogether, and through his first two career starts, Ewers has completed 65.0 percent of his passes for 485 yards with a 2:2 TD:INT as the Week 18 road regular-season finale against the Patriots approaches.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Starter in 2026?
Ewers has likely earned the right to compete for the starting quarterback job in Miami in 2026, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Ewers has started Miami's last two games and has done well managing the offense, also showing a surprising willingness to target the deep and intermediate areas of the field. Louis-Jacques makes clear that Ewers won't be assured of anything entering 2026, but he could be in line to compete for the starting job with a veteran during training camp. This scenario assumes Tua Tagovailoa will no longer be with the team, which appears likely.
