Milton spent last season backing up Dak Prescott after being acquired by the Cowboys in an offseason trade. The 2024 sixth-round pick hasn’t started in the NFL, though Milton played most of the 2024 season finale with the Patriots and threw for 241 yards with two total TDs. The Cowboys signed Sam Howell in the offseason, so Milton may face competition for the second spot on the QB depth chart. If Prescott were to get hurt, whoever wins the job between Milton and Howell would have some fantasy upside while throwing to Dallas’ star WR duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. In need of an understudy with some upside, the Cowboys acquired Milton to back up Dak Prescott, who was limited to eight games last season due to a torn hamstring. Prescott's injury history creates a plausible path to significant snaps for Milton in Dallas, but he still has to demonstrate his cannon of an arm has enough accuracy to be a reliable NFL quarterback.
