2026 Fantasy Outlook
Loveland erupted over the final four games of his rookie season, including playoffs, with 48 targets from QB Caleb Williams resulting in 28 catches for 378 yards and two touchdowns. If Loveland were to sustain similar production for a full season, he'd almost certainly be the overall TE1, ahead of even Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. On the other hand, the 2025 first-round pick had 42 catches for 528 yards and four touchdowns on just 59 targets across his first 14 NFL games, posting strong numbers by rookie standards without helping fantasy managers much. After both Loveland and WR Luther Burden finished the season strong, Chicago traded away WR D.J. Moore this offseason and let WR Olamide Zaccheaus leave in free agency. Burden and WR Rome Odunze are now Loveland's main competition for targets, with veteran TE Cole Kmet (48 targets in 2025) and rookie TE Sam Roush (third round) potentially chipping away at Loveland's snap counts or stealing the occasional red-zone target. It’s fair to be wary of Loveland's top-50 ADP after only one month of standout production, but he's a true blue-chip prospect who can already claim one of the most productive age-21 seasons by an NFL tight end. Ready to build on strong finish
Loveland (concussion) said he "feel(s) very good" and is embracing a larger role heading into his second NFL season, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Loveland's role expanded significantly down the stretch in his rookie season, as the 2025 first-round pick caught 28 of 48 targets for 378 yards and two touchdowns over Chicago's last four games, two of which came in the playoffs. He suffered a concussion late in the Bears' NFC divisional-round loss to the Rams, but Loveland's comments indicate he has recovered from that injury and is ready to build on his momentum from last season in a Bears offense that traded away wide receiver DJ Moore earlier this offseason. Moore finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Loveland during the 2025 regular season.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Loveland is considered a notch below Brock Bowers as a prospect despite being taken a few picks earlier -- 10th overall to the Bears. Fortunately, there's plenty of room between Bowers and bust, after the 2024 first-round pick set rookie TE records for catches and yards. Loveland caught 56 passes for 582 yards and five TDs in 10 games for Michigan last season, with his slight dip in receiving yards (compared to 649 in 2023) a product of playing five fewer games than he had the year before. His raw receiving stats may not stand out, but that's largely because he ran fewer than 300 routes in each of his three seasons in Michigan's run-first offense. The per-route production was far more impressive, especially when accounting for age, with Loveland having put up 16-235-2 receiving as an 18-year-old freshman and nowadays set to play a full NFL season before turning 22. At 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, Loveland is considered a competent blocker in addition to being an excellent pass catcher, which should help him get on the field soon enough, although there are serious Year 1 workload concerns on a team that returns incumbent starting tight end Cole Kmet. Loveland underwent shoulder surgery in January on an injury that he played through last season, but that procedure isn't expected to impact his Week 1 availability.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Chance for expanded role
Loveland could take on a larger role in Week 8 against the Ravens after Cole Kmet exited Chicago's 26-14 Week 7 win over the Saints after sustaining a back injury.
ANALYSIS
Loveland has worked as the Bears' 1B option at tight end so far, but the rookie first-round pick could get a chance to spread his wings as the top option at the position if Kmet misses additional action. Loveland set a new career high with three catches in Sunday's win over New Orleans.
