Jamaica Tallawahs vs. Guyana Amazon Warriors: CPL Match 15 Preview

Match Details:

Match: Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors

Series: Caribbean Premier League

Venue: Sabina Park - Kingston, Jamaica

Date: September 19, 5:30 a.m. IST

Preview:

Guyana Amazon Warriors are in fine form in the ongoing CPL, and will carry plenty of momentum with them into this game after winning their first four matches. They currently lead the points table, and will take on a side that have had a contrasting run thus far.

The Tallawahs have managed just one win when they defeated Barbados Tridents last time around, and will be eager to carry that form forward. They are struggling to stay afloat in the tournament, and another loss here could hamper their progress to the next round. They will take confidence from playing at home, and will want their big guns to fire in this must-win clash.

Weather Conditions: Clear skies have been forecast for match day, with very little chances of rain. The temperature will hover around 30-degree Celsius, and we should be in for a full game.

Pitch Conditions: The track at Sabina Park has produced run-fests, with 200+ scores being notched here twice in three games already. Batsman-friendly conditions can be expected once again, though spinners will get into the game in the latter half.

Predicted Playing XI:

Jamaica Tallawahs:

There is still no update on the availability of power-hitter Andre Russell, who took a blow on the head while batting in the match against St. Lucia Zouks. He is expected to appear

Predicted Playing XI:

Jamaica Tallawahs:

There is still no update on the availability of power-hitter Andre Russell, who took a blow on the head while batting in the match against St. Lucia Zouks. He is expected to appear for a late fitness test, following which the decision to play him will be taken. Rovman Powell has already been ruled out of the CPL with injury, while all-rounder Shamar Springer missed the last two games and is not expected to play against Guyana as he recovers from a knee injury.

Chris Gayle, Glenn Phillips (wk), Chadwick Walton (c), George Worker, Dwayne Smith, Javelle Glen/Andre Russell, Jade Dernbach, Derval Green, Ramaal Lewis, Christopher Lamont, Zahir Khan

Guyana Amazon Warriors:

Guyana made two changes to their playing XI in the last match, with Shadab Khan and Odean Smith making way for Qais Ahmed and Imran Tahir. Both had a good last game, as they shared five wickets between them, and they are likely to continue for the upcoming game.

Brandon King, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Shoaib Malik (c), Nicholas Pooran (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Chris Green, Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, Qais Ahmad, Imran Tahir

Top picks:

Wicket-keeper: Glenn Phillips (9 credits)

Glenn Phillips was the leading run-score in the CPL last season with over 450 runs at an average of more than 40. He did not get off to the best of starts in this season, but has scored two fifties since then and he will be eager to carry on.

Batsman: Chandrapaul Hemraj (8 credits)

Chandrapaul Hemraj has amassed 138 runs in four games this CPL thus far and is his team's leading run-scorer. Hemraj is coming off a fifty against Barbados Tridents, and the side will expect him to play a similar knock here.

All-rounder: Keemo Paul (8.5 credits)

Keemo Paul has picked up four wickets in four games, and is a decent pick at 8.5 credits. With no other all-rounder from either team having put his hand up to pitch in with a dominant showing yet in this year's CPL, Paul is the lone all-rounder in the Dream11 side.

Bowler: Romario Shepherd (8 credits)

Shepherd is a big threat and can be the game changer in the upcoming clash. With seven wickets thus far, he is the tournament's second highest wicket-taker this season. He has bowled economically as well, giving away just over 5.5 runs an over. He picked up a four-wicket haul earlier in the edition against Barbados, and will be looking for a similar showing.

Captain: Glenn Phillips, Chandrapaul Hemraj
