The CFL and DraftKings are back with a four-game slate in Week 11 that kicks off Friday night this week with a Western Division showdown between the Blue Bombers and Eskimos and wraps up with a rare Sunday afternoon showdown between the Argonauts and the improving Alouettes that could potentially yield the most fantasy production of the weekend.
With plenty to break down, let's delve into multiple options at each position across the salary spectrum for your Week 11 cash games and GPPs.:
DraftKings CFL Plays- Week 11
Quarterback
Trevor Harris, EDM vs. WPG ($10,800): Harris has exploded for over 300 yards in three straight games and racked up 420, along with five total touchdowns, against the Argonauts in Week 10. That led to 45.1 fantasy points, easily a season-high figure. Harris racked up plenty of production against the Blue Bombers in his one previous game against them this season, putting up 345 passing yards back in Week 2. The Bombers have faced the most passing attempts this season (341), and although they've allowed them to be completed at a league-low 60.1 percent, they're also yielding 264.7 passing yards per contest. Harris has attempted at least 40 passes in each of his last three contests and completing a stellar 76.5 percent of his attempts across four home games while also generating a 6:0 TD:INT. Despite a tough matchup on paper overall, Harris still checks in as worth the five-figure investment if you're paying up in Week 11.
Vernon Adams Jr., MTL at TOR ($10,400): Adams was excellent in the Week 10 overtime win against the Stampeders, totaling a season-high 44.36 fantasy points on the strength of a 389-yard passing effort. It was the second 300-yard tally of the season for Adams, who also notched a pair of rushing touchdowns for the third time in the last four games. He now gets a mouth-watering matchup against the porous Argonauts defense that checks in allowing the second-most passing yards (307.8), highest average yards per attempt (9.1), most completions of 30 yards or more (15) and second-highest passer efficiency rating (111.1). In turn, Adams is averaging an impressive 8.3 yards per attempt and has already rushed for at least 40 yards in four contests. He's also been at best on the road, averaging 255.8 passing yards per game, 4.6 rush yards per carry and 27.06 fantasy points per contest. Despite Adams' hefty price tag, a matchup versus Toronto in what could be a back-and-forth battle is hard to pass up.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson, TOR vs. MTL ($9,100): The Roughriders' Cody Fajardo ($9,800) and the Tiger-Cats' Dane Evans ($8,900) are also intriguing options in the sub-$10k pool, but Bethel-Thompson presents as a high-upside cost-savings option. The veteran has repeatedly been forced to put the ball up plenty due to the spotty Toronto defense's propensity for facilitating big deficits. Consequently, Bethel-Thompson has eclipsed 300 passing yards in four of the last six games and has thrown multiple touchdown passes in four of the last five overall. The veteran has also rushed for a combined 82 yards on just 10 carries in his last pair of contests and now draws a matchup that's even better on paper than one versus Toronto's own vulnerable secondary. The Alouettes have allowed the most passing yards per contest (313.0), along with a 70.8 percent completion rate, 8.7 yards per attempt and the second-most completions of 30 yards or more (13). Bethel-Thompson is also averaging 20.4 fantasy points and a 72.6 completion percentage over four home contests, helping further his case.
Running Back
Andrew Harris, WPG at EDM ($10,600): Harris is dealing with an early-week elbow injury, but he's already confirmed to be playing in Friday's contest. The veteran running back has seen a $400 price drop over Week 10 and faces an Eskimos team that's allowing 5.3 yards per rush, the third-highest figure in the CFL. That's partly the byproduct of Edmonton already allowing seven rushes of 20 yards or greater, while Harris has been his best on the road with 108.3 rush yards per contest, an outstanding 7.6 rushing yards per carry and 25.98 fantasy points per game. Finally, it's also worth noting the Eskimos are surrendering the second-highest efficiency rating (106.4) on targets of up nine yards in depth, which is exactly the passing window that Harris' targets would normally come in. While the price is less than ideal, it's difficult to find a more dependable week-to-week option at running back in a four-game slate.
Jeremiah Johnson, MTL at TOR ($6,700): If William Stanback ($8,400) is active in Week 11, Johnson's candidacy naturally takes a hit. However, the former remains very questionable with a heel injury, while Johnson was very effective against the Stampeders in Week 10 as Stanback's replacement. The veteran ripped off 107 rushing yards on just 13 carries and added 22 more through the air on four receptions, leading to 19.9 fantasy points. Stanback still has a couple of extra days to get healthy prior Sunday's matchup, but Johnson could well at least split carries even Stanback is able to suit up. The Argonauts check in surrendering a CFL-high 138.5 rushing yards per contest and 5.9 yards per carry, and they're also tied with the Lions for third-most rushing touchdowns (11) allowed. Johnson is also capable of taking advantage of Toronto's vulnerabilities against the pass, making him a very attractive value play if Stanback sits and still a potentially strong option even if he's just a complementary piece.
Cameron Marshall, HAM at BC ($5,900): Marshall's price remains very reasonable despite back-to-back strong performances. The Tiger-Cats' current starting running back posted 92 rushing yards against the Redblacks on his way to 10.8 fantasy points in Week 10. The Lions make for good targets, as they're allowing 108.8 rushing yards per game and 11 rushing touchdowns on the season. The Tiger-Cats are making a concerted effort to keep the offense balanced in the wake of Jeremiah Masoli's season-ending ACL injury in order to keep Dane Evans' workload manageable. Therefore, Marshall should see double-digit carries for a second straight game and could especially be in a for a solid workload in the second half if game script goes in Hamilton's favor versus struggling BC.
Wide Receiver/Slotback
Brandon Banks, HAM at BC ($10,300): Banks had a surprising down game last week against the Redblacks, totaling just 4.2 fantasy points. However, he'll be in excellent position to bounce back against a Lions squad that he posted 39.7 fantasy points against on the strength of a nine-reception, 137-yard tally back in Week 9. BC has improved some of its numbers against the pass recently, but they're still allowing the highest completion percentage (73.1) in the CFL, along with the highest passer efficiency rating (111.7), third-most completions of 30 yards or greater (12) and CFL-high 10 touchdowns and 22 completions of targets of 20 yards or more in depth. The latter two figures particularly bode well for Banks, whose downfield chops are unquestioned and who boasts an excellent catch rate on targets of that distance.
Kyran Moore, SSK vs. OTT ($8,100): The Tiger-Cats' Bralon Addison ($8,800) is also appealing in this price range if you have a few extra hundred to spend. However, Moore has been one of the breakout stars of the surprising Roughriders passing attack this season. The 22-year-old already sports a career-best 34-492-3 line for the season, a pair of 100-yard performances and at least six targets in four of the last five games. The Redblacks could well facilitate another successful chapter in his breakout campaign, as they're allowing the third-most passing yards per game (304.7), second-most completions (229) and third-highest completion percentage (71.3). Ottawa is also tied with Montreal for second-most completions of 30 or more yards (13) and have yielded the third-most completions on targets of 20 yards or greater (19), giving Moore no shortage of paths to success. Moore's 14.5 yards per catch plays perfectly with the Redblacks' weakest areas against the pass as well – they're yielding the second-highest completion percentage (82.0) on targets of up to nine yards and second-highest efficiency rating (97.4) on attempts of between 10 and 19 yards.
DaVaris Daniels, EDM vs. WPG ($7,800): When healthy, Daniels has proven to have a healthy rapport with Trevor Harris. The speedster already has a pair of six-catch tallies over the four games he's played and just exploded for a season-best 155 yards in Week 10 against the Argonauts. Daniels makes for a great way to gain exposure to the Eskimos prolific passing attack without breaking the bank, and although the Bombers are tough through the air overall, Daniels should see plenty of volume come his way. He's logged at least six targets in each of his four contests, and he has a combined 19 over the last pair of contests alone.
DeVier Posey, MTL at TOR ($6,100): Posey returned from the injured list with a bang in Week 10, generating a 10-181 line versus the Stampeders. He now gets a crack at his old Argonauts teammates, which should give him an extra dose of motivation in what is already a premium matchup. Toronto's many weaknesses against the pass were already detailed in Adams' entry earlier, and their troubles defending the deep pass could especially pay off for Posey. The Ohio State product is averaging 14.8 yards per grab across his four games, averaging at least 16.0 in two of those contests. With at least seven targets in three games, including a whopping 15 in Week 10, Posey could ultimately be one of the biggest bargains of the week at his price.
Team Defense
Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Ottawa Redblacks ($5,300): The Argonauts have often been a target for me in terms of what defense I suggest rostering, but their offense is starting to finally make some strides. However, one that seems to be going in the opposite direction is the Redblacks, which saw starter Dominique Davis benched for part of a Week 10 loss to the Tiger-Cats. Jonathon Jennings wasn't any better in his place so Davis quickly reentered the contest, but he finished with just a 50.0 percent completion rate and no touchdowns. Prior to Week 10, he'd thrown multiple interceptions in three of the prior four games, and he owns an unsightly 2:8 TD:INT over three road games overall. The Redblacks are ranked last in yards per attempt (6.6), completions of 30 or more yards (eight) and passer efficiency as well (66.8), and they also check in with the second-lowest average yards per rush (4.8). The Riders come in with the second-most sacks (25) and have yielded the fewest offensive touchdowns (11) and first downs (136), including fewest rushing first downs (39). Saskatchewan is surrendering a modest 20.5 points and averaging a solid 9.5 fantasy points per home game, making them worthy of their elevated price.
