Rankin rushed 13 times for 102 yards and a touchdown while bringing in five of seven targets for 94 yards in the Elks' 29-21 win over the Redblacks on Saturday.

The explosive running back has a stated goal of becoming the first player in CFL history to accrue 1,000 yards apiece as a rusher and receiver in a season, and he certainly got that quest off to a strong start Saturday. Rankin mostly scuffled for running room on 12 of his 13 carries -- he netted 41 yards on those attempts -- but he was able to rip off one of his trademark long runs for a 61-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The versatile Rankin also set the pace for the Elks in receiving yards while sharing the team lead in receptions with T.J. Luther. Rankin will remain a must-start option in all formats during a Week 3 home matchup against the Alouettes on Saturday, June 20 following a Week 2 bye.
