Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

With the Celtics and Raptors sweeping their respective series, we only have two games on the schedule in the NBA on Tuesday. That doesn't leave us with a lot of options on Yahoo, but that doesn't mean we can't end the night in the green. Here are some players to consider for your entry, as well as a few to potentially avoid.

GUARDS

Luka Doncic, DAL at LAC ($56): Originally listed as a game-time decision, Doncic ended up logging 46 minutes in the Mavericks' overtime victory Sunday. He sure didn't look limited, producing 43 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists and two steals. He attempted a whopping 31 shots with Kristaps Porzingis out (knee) in what was just an incredible performance that he capped with the game-winning shot. Even if Porzingis returns for this game, Porzingis has arguably the highest floor of anyone included in this slate.

Trey Burke, DAL at LAC ($14): Burke stepped up with Porzingis out in Game 4, starting and scoring 25 points across 37 minutes. He had scored at least 10 points in both of the previous two games off the bench, so he's had a strong series, overall. If Porzingis is out again, Burke could be an absolute steal at this salary. His upside likely won't be as high if Porzingis does return, but he could still provide value.

Guard to Avoid

Paul George, LAC vs. DAL ($34): George is in some kind of funk right now. He drilled 10 of his 22 shot attempts in Game 1, but he's a combined 10-for-47 (21.3 percent) since. He's been ice cold from downtown, shooting 4-for-25 (16 percent) during that three-game stretch. There is a chance that he can break out at any given game, but with how bad he's looked and the other top-tier options available for this slate, he's very risky.

FORWARDS

Kawhi Leonard, LAC vs. DAL ($48): To no surprise, Leonard was once again excellent in Game 4 with 32 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. He's scored at least 50 Yahoo points in all four games of the series, which has been aided by him taking at least 21 shots in each contest. With George struggling, the Clippers need Leonard to be even more aggressive on the offensive end as they try to take a 3-2 lead.

Paul Millsap, DEN vs. UTA ($13): After not making much of an impact over the previous two games, Millsap scored 16 points on his way to 35.4 Yahoo points in Game 4. The key was that he logged 35 minutes, which matched his total playing time from the previous two contests, combined. The Nuggets were much more competitive Sunday with Millsap playing more, so there's a chance that he sees added minutes in this contest, as well. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option to take a chance on in tournament play, Millsap might be your man.

Forward to Avoid

Michael Porter Jr., DEN vs. UTA ($22): After losing two straight, the Nuggets decided to shake up their starting five Sunday. One of the changes that they made was moving Porter to the bench. He logged only 23 minutes in his new role, finishing with nine points and four rebounds. With no indication that he will move back into the starting lineup for this contest, his limited role with the second unit doesn't make him very appealing in DFS.

CENTERS

Rudy Gobert, UTA at DEN ($33): Gobert finished with another double-double in Game 4, posting 17 points and 11 rebounds. He didn't have a block, which is certainly rare for him considering he averaged two rejections a game during the regular season. He plays a lot, is the anchor of the Jazz's defense and is a threat to record a double-double whenever he steps onto the floor, making him one of the safer centers available for this slate.

Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. DAL ($15): Outside of a dud in Game 2, Zubac has played well in this series. He posted a double-double in Game 1 and has scored at least 15 points in both of the last two games. There aren't many viable budget-friendly big men with only two games on the docket, but Zubac is at least somewhat appealing if you don't want to spend up at the position.

Center to Avoid

Montrezl Harrell, LAC vs. DAL ($15): Harrell came through with three blocks Sunday, but his overall line was terrible considering he had only two points and one rebound. He has logged 18 minutes or fewer in three of the four games and is still working his way back after missing all of the Clippers' seeding games in Orlando. Until we start to see him play more, Harrell is a tough sell in DFS contests.
