Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Tuesday brings a packed 11-game slate with the NBA just two days away from the completion of the regular season. With some teams positioning themselves for the playoffs and others rolling with youth down the stretch, this could be a wild night in DFS.

Let's highlight some players to target and avoid while creating your Yahoo lineup.

GUARDS

Delon Wright, MEM at DET ($31): Mike Conley Jr. (ankle) has missed the last four games for the Grizzlies and remains out Tuesday. Wright has been exceptional with Conley on the sidelines and is coming off of consecutive triple-doubles. The Grizzlies want to see what they have in the young guard that they acquired from the Raptors, so he's going to continue to receive a ton of playing time in this matchup. Despite his climbing price tag, he still provides plenty of upside.

Jamal Crawford, PHO at DAL ($12): The Suns don't have many scoring options left now that Devin Booker (ankle) and Deandre Ayton (ankle) are out. In the two games since Booker went down, Crawford has scored 46.9 and 41.8 Yahoo points, respectively. He played at least 27 minutes and attempted at least 17 shots in both contests and should continue to be one of the focal points of their offense, making him a great target at near the minimum price.

Guard to Avoid

Stephen Curry, GS at NO ($42): It wasn't easy, but the Warriors have finally locked up the top seed in the Western Conference. While Curry hasn't been ruled out for this contest, it's hard to imagine him playing heavy minutes, especially considering the opponent. At this lofty price tag, he's too risky to take a chance on.

FORWARDS

Mario Hezonja, NY at CHI ($17): The Knicks have unleashed Hezonja down the stretch, mostly because they didn't really have a choice. With so many injuries at point guard, Hezonja has been forced to take over at the position. He hasn't disappointed, scoring at least 45.7 Yahoo points in three straight games. Even though Dennis Smith Jr. is back, this is still a prime spot to deploy Hezonja at a reasonable price.

JaKarr Sampson, CHI vs. NY ($14): The Bulls are basically trotting out a G League roster as the season comes to a close. Reinforcements are not coming, which is key for Sampson. Even though he's not starting, that hasn't stopped him from scoring at least 35.4 Yahoo points in all three games since joining the team. He averaged 31 minutes a night during that stretch and will likely be one of the focal points of their frontcourt once again.

Forward to Avoid

Jimmy Butler, PHI at MIA ($36): The Sixers are locked into the third seed in the Eastern Conference, so now it's just a matter of getting healthy for the playoffs. Joel Embiid (knee) and J.J. Redick (back) will sit this one out, which would seem to be a good sign for Butler. However, Butler has been dealing with a back issue of his own of late, so don't expect him to log a ton of minutes. The Heat also allow the second-fewest points per game (105.9) in the league, which won't help with Butler's upside.

CENTERS

Mitchell Robinson, NY at CHI ($28): In another lost season for the Knicks, they have to be excited about the promise that Robinson has shown. He's proven to not only be a shot blocking machine, but also that he is a starting caliber player. He's scored at least 32.2 Yahoo points in six straight games and has an excellent matchup against a Bulls team that allows the second-most Yahoo points per game (47.2) to opposing centers.

Larry Nance Jr., CLE vs. CHA ($21): As the Cavaliers limp their way towards the finish line, their frontcourt will be without the services of Kevin Love (rest) and Tristan Thompson (rest) for this game that actually means a lot for the Hornets. That should leave Nance with all of the playing time that he can handle. With at least 32.4 Yahoo points in five of his last six games, Nance is hard to pass up at this price.

Center to Avoid

Marc Gasol, TOR at MIN ($20): The Raptors are another one of the top teams in the East with nothing left to play for Tuesday. Locked into the second seed in the conference, this could be a prime spot for them to rest some of their veterans. Gasol is already averaging nine fewer minutes a game since joining the team, which has put a limit on his upside. Nance is only a dollar more and has a far higher minutes floor, so it's hard to justify deploying Gasol.
