Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

We have a bit of a unique twist in the NBA playoffs Sunday. There will be a Game 6 played in two Western Conference series, but we also have the opening game of the second-round matchup between the Celtics and Raptors. Here are some players to consider while building your Yahoo entry, as well as a few to potentially avoid.

GUARDS

Jamal Murray, DEN at UTA ($34): With their backs against the wall, Murray basically carried the Nuggets to a win in Game 5 with 42 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. That came on the heels of scoring 50 points to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists in Game 4. He's attempted a whopping 57 shots across those two contests and should once again be busy with Will Barton (knee) sidelined.

Mike Conley Jr., UTA vs. DEN ($22): After missing the first two games of the series, Conley has immediately made an impact by scoring at least 17 and dishing out at least four assists in each of the last three games. He produced at least 33.3 Yahoo points in each of those contests and should continue to be an important part of the Jazz's offense with Bojan Bogdanovic (wrist) out for the playoffs.

Guard to Avoid

Marcus Smart, BOS at TOR ($19): Outside of a big performance in Game 3, Smart produced a mostly quiet series against the Sixers in the first round. Despite averaging 36 minutes a night, he only averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals for the series. While playing time won't be difficult for Smart to come by with Gordon Hayward (ankle) out, his limited role within the Celtics' offense severely dampers his upside.

FORWARDS

Kawhi Leonard, LAC at DAL ($48): Leonard has been automatic in this series. He hasn't scored fewer than 29 points in any of the five games and is averaging 32.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.8 steals, overall. The Clippers have the Mavericks on the brink of elimination, so look for Leonard to enjoy another strong performance as they try to advance.

Maxi Kleber, DAL vs. LAC ($11): The Mavericks will be forced to try and stave off elimination with Kristaps Porzingis (knee) out. Look for them to ask for more from Kleber, who has averaged 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and two blocks across the last two games with Porzingis sidelined. They are basically down to just him and Boban Marjanovic ($10) up front, so playing time should not be hard to come by for Kleber.

Forward to Avoid

OG Anunoby, TOR vs. BOS ($19): The Raptors don't ask Anunoby to do much on the offensive end, which has resulted in him recording a 14.3 percent usage rate during the regular season. That didn't change in the first round of the playoffs, with him averaging just 7.5 shot attempts per contest. Although Anunoby's salary won't destroy your budget, he's not a very attractive option given his role.

CENTERS

Nikola Jokic, DEN at UTA ($43): Jokic has been fantastic in this series, scoring at least 44.4 Yahoo points in four of five games. Even though he didn't reach that threshold in Game 3, he still wasn't a complete flop with 15 points, five rebounds and six assists in that contest. Considering Jokic's ability to contribute in so many different areas, he's a safe option despite his hefty salary.

Serge Ibaka, TOR vs. BOS ($24): Ibaka took full advantage of the depleted Nets in the first round, scoring at least 36.9 Yahoo points in three of the four games. He closed out the series with back-to-back double-doubles and scored at least 20 points three times. The Celtics should be a tougher opponent, but Ibaka posted respectable averages of 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds against them across four games during the regular season.

Center to Avoid

Marc Gasol, TOR vs. BOS ($12): Gasol isn't playing much despite remaining a member of the Raptors' starting five. He logged 21 minutes or fewer in each of the four games against the Nets and finished with a combined 12 points across the last three games. The problem was Gasol only attempted 13 shots during that stretch. Combine his limited playing time with a decreased offensive role and he's not someone to pursue even if you are looking for salary relief at center.
