Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

The NBA closes out March with seven games on Sunday, four of which will make up the main slate on Yahoo. Despite such a limited slate, there are still a lot of top-tier options available with the Warriors, Nuggets and Spurs set to take the floor. Here are some players across the price scale to target and avoid while creating your lineup.

GUARD

Delon Wright, MEM at LAC ($23): The Grizzlies just played Saturday, so it seems likely that Mike Conley will be rested for this game. He's been rested for at least one game in both of their last two back-to-back sets. Conley being on the sidelines would open up added opportunities for Wright, who has scored at least 36.4 Yahoo points in each of the last three contests that Conley has missed.

Tyler Dorsey, MEM at LAC ($14): Dorsey has been locked into the starting lineup lately and would also benefit if Conley doesn't take the floor. In the last two games without Conley, Dorsey scored 47.1 and 38.1 Yahoo points, respectively. It should also help his cause that the Clippers play at the eighth-fastest pace (102.5 possessions per game) in the league.

Guard to Avoid

Patrick Beverley, LAC vs. MEM ($18): Beverley returned to action Saturday after missing Thursday's contest with a hip injury. He wasn't needed much in their lopsided win over the Cavaliers, leaving him to score just 13.6 Yahoo points across 23 minutes. He's not a volume shooter, so he's going to have minimal upside if he's not playing heavy minutes. The Clippers could limit his minutes again Sunday in the second game of a back-to-back set, so it might be best to avoid him. It also doesn't help his cause that the Grizzlies allow the second-fewest points per game (105.5) in the league.

FORWARD

Miles Bridges, CHA at GS ($17): The Hornets are two games back in the loss column for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, so they really need a win Sunday. However, that will be no easy feat on the road against the Warriors. Bridges has been a key part of their rotation down the stretch by averaging 32 minutes across their last six games. He hasn't let his opportunity go to waste, scoring at least 26.5 Yahoo points all six times. At this reasonable price, he could provide plenty of value.

Bruno Caboclo, MEM at LAC ($15): After a couple of monster performances, Caboclo returned to Earth on Saturday against the Suns. While he wasn't spectacular, he was still productive with 26.2 Yahoo points. Not only could Conley sit this game out, but there is a chance Jonas Valanciunas is rested, as well. With a larger role in the offense likely on tap, Caboclo is a great cost-effective option.

Forward to Avoid

Will Barton, DEN vs. WAS ($17): The Nuggets have been in a lot of lopsided games lately, which has often left Barton with limited playing time. The Nuggets are a stellar team at home, so don't be surprised if they blow out the Wizards in this contest. With 22.9 Yahoo points or fewer in six of his last seven games, Barton might be too risky at this price.

CENTER

DeMarcus Cousins, GS vs. CHA ($30): Jonas Valanciunas ($32) stands out as a top center option against the Clippers if he plays. However, if he doesn't, Cousins makes a lot of sense at this price. He's scored at least 41.2 Yahoo points in four of his last six games and has a major mismatch against a Hornets team that is still missing Cody Zeller (knee) and has allowed the sixth-most Yahoo points per game (42.3) to opposing centers.

Mason Plumlee, DEN vs. WAS ($13): Plumlee could be a starter for a lot of teams, but he's stuck with a limited role off the bench behind Nikola Jokic. He's scored 18.6 Yahoo points or fewer in three of his last five games, but he also scored at least 30.8 Yahoo points in the other two contests. If this game gets out of hand, he could receive added minutes in garbage time. That could be huge for his upside since the Wizards allow the second-most points per game (117.2) in the league.

Center to Avoid

Willie Cauley-Stein, SAC at SA ($20): Cauley-Stein has been a boom-or-bust option lately. He's scored at least 30.4 Yahoo points in three of his last five games, but he scored 14.9 Yahoo points or fewer in the other two contests during that span. The Spurs allow the fewest Yahoo points per game (35.3) to opposing centers, so taking a chance on this being one of Cauley-Stein's good games could be risky based on his price tag.
