Yahoo DFS Basketball: Saturday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

After a busy night that included 10 games Friday, we have a bit of a tricky slate with another 10 games on the schedule Saturday. Several teams will be playing the second leg of a back-to-back set, so keep your eye out for news throughout the day to see if anyone is rested. As things currently stand, here are some players to target, as well as a few to avoid, for your Yahoo lineup.

GUARDS

Devonte' Graham, CHA vs. CHI ($25): Graham took advantage of a favorable matchup against the Wizards on Friday, scoring 41.7 Yahoo points across 36 minutes. He has another chance to shine here against the Bulls, who continue to struggle to slow down the opposition. When these two teams met in the first game the season, Graham began his breakout campaign with 38.8 Yahoo points. There's no reason why he couldn't at least approach that type of production in their rematch.

Shaquille Harrison, CHI at CHA ($12): With Chandler Hutchison (lower leg) listed as doubtful, Harrison should once again start at small forward for the Bulls. In the last two games without Hutchison, he scored 45.7 and 27.4 Yahoo points, respectively. Combine his added playing time with the Hornets allowing 113.6 points per game and Harrison could once again provide value at such a cheap price.

Guard to Avoid

Lonzo Ball, NO at UTA ($22): After sitting out six straight games with a hip injury, Ball made his return Thursday against the Suns. However, not only did he come off the bench, he was on a minutes restriction. As a result, he scored just 13.7 Yahoo points in 19 minutes. He might be limited again Saturday, which could really put him behind the eight ball since he'll already be facing a Jazz team that has allowed the fewest points per game.

FORWARDS

Pascal Siakam, TOR at ATL ($45): As good as he was last year, Siakam has taken his game to another level with Kawhi Leonard no longer in town. His usage rate has skyrocketed to 29.7 percent, which is nearly nine percentage points higher than last season. That's enabled him to average 25.1 points go to along with 8.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. The Hawks don't have much talent to speak of up front, so don't expect them to be able to slow him down.

Carmelo Anthony, POR at CLE ($10): Anthony may have just signed with the Blazers, but he's wasted no time getting involved in the offense by attempting 29 shots across his first two games. He logged 29 minutes against the Bucks on Thursday and was able to score 29.4 Yahoo points. Even though Damian Lillard (back) could return, Anthony should still have a large enough role up front to be worth considering against a bad Cavaliers' team.

Forward to Avoid

Kenrich Williams, NO at UTA ($20): With their litany of injuries, the Pelicans have had to rely heavily on Williams for minutes. He's started each of their last seven games, averaging 7.6 points, nine rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals across 34 minutes a night. That's resulted in an increased price tag, possibly making him too expensive to deploy against the defensive-minded Jazz.

CENTERS

Rudy Gobert, UTA vs. NO ($35): The Pelicans could be in big trouble here against Gobert. He's on top of his game right now having scored at least 43.5 Yahoo points in five of his last six games. They won't have many viable options to try and slow him down, either, with Derrick Favors (back) already ruled out. On top of that, Jahlil Okafor (ankle) is listed as questionable. Really the only concern with Gobert is that he could spend some added time on the bench in the fourth quarter if the Pelicans race out to a big lead early.

Skal Labissiere, POR at CLE ($14): The key here is the status of Hassan Whiteside (hip), who is listed as questionable after missing Thursday's contest versus the Bucks. Although he didn't start, Labissiere scored 58.9 Yahoo points across 28 minutes. The Blazers are already extremely thin up front, so expect him to have another expanded role if Whiteside is sidelined again.

Center to Avoid

Marc Gasol, TOR at ATL ($17): Even with the Raptors dealing with some key injuries, Gasol has scored 27.5 Yahoo points or fewer in six of his last eight games. In fact, he's only scored at least 30 Yahoo points in a game two times all season. While he's not overly expensive, there are plenty of other cost-effective options to consider during such a busy slate that carry more upside.
