Friday marks the final day of the NBA regular season. There are only four games on the schedule and we might not see many stars in action as teams prepare for the playoffs. Keeping that in mind, here are some players to consider for your Yahoo entry, as well as a few to potentially avoid.
GUARDS
Tyler Herro, MIA vs. IND ($18): The Heat are preparing for what they hope will be a lengthy playoff run by resting Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic for this contest. That likely means plenty of minutes and shot attempts are coming Herro's way. He already comes into this contest on top of his game, having averaged 23 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists across his last four contests.
Alec Burks, PHI at HOU ($13): With Ben Simmons (knee) out for the season, the Sixers can ill afford to lose any of their other starters. Keeping that in mind, I'd expect most of their regulars will play limited minutes today - if they even take the floor. That should set things up nicely for Burks, who has scored at least 28 Yahoo points in each of his last three games.
Guard to Avoid
Jamal Murray, DEN vs. TOR ($23): The Nuggets haven't recently been using their starters during the fourth quarter, leaving Murray to log 25 minutes or fewer in back-to-back games. As a result, he scored 28.3 and 22.6 Yahoo points, respectively. Look for Murray to once again see limited playing time in this contest.
FORWARDS
Solomon Hill, MIA vs. IND ($14): Not only have the Heat already ruled out three key players, but Andre Iguodala (not injury related), Jae Crowder (knee) and Derrick Jones (knee) are all listed as questionable. If any of those players are also forced to sit, Hill could be looking at a significant increase in playing time. He already played 24 minutes in their last game against the Thunder, finishing with 10 points, three rebounds and two steals. The key is Hill attempted 10 shots, which shows he is involved in the offense when given an extended run.
Darius Bazley, OKC vs. LAC ($13): Bazley has been on fire the last three games, averaging 22 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He averaged 29 minutes a game during that stretch and should continue to see added playing time with the Thunder likely to limit Danilo Gallinari's minutes. The Clippers might also be without several of their top defensive options due to players being rested.
Forward to Avoid
Al Horford, PHI vs. HOU ($15): Horford has started to see his playing time dwindle as the playoffs approach. He sat out one of the Sixers' last three games for rest and didn't play more than 22 minutes in either of their other two matchups. If Horford isn't ruled out for this game entirely, it seems like best case scenario he plays around 20 minutes and that doesn't leave him with many opportunities to be productive.
CENTERS
Chris Boucher, TOR vs. DEN ($18): Serge Ibaka (knee) has missed the last two games for the Raptors and is listed as questionable for this contest. Given their desire to have him healthy for the playoffs, it would be pretty surprising if he takes the floor here. Marc Gasol is still seeing limited minutes, which has left Boucher with plenty of playing time across their last two contests. He's responded with 53.2 and 40.8 Yahoo points, respectively, and makes for a potential steal at this salary.
Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. OKC ($13): The good news for the Clippers is that Montrezl Harrell is back with the team after being away to deal with a personal matter. Still, he won't take the floor for this contest, which should keep Zubac busy. Over the last five games, he's averaged 14.2 points and 13.2 rebounds across 24 minutes a night. Look for him to keep things rolling here considering the Thunder will likely be resting or limiting playing time for most of their starters.
Center to Avoid
Steven Adams, OKC vs. LAC ($16): Although Adams hasn't officially been ruled out as of late Thursday night, it seems unlikely he will carry a significant role in this game even if he does play. He recently missed three games with a lower leg injury and only played 20 minutes in his return to the lineup Wednesday against the Heat.
