Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Turner fell short of 20 homers for the first time in a full season since 2019, managing just 15 long balls in 639 regular-season plate appearances, but he won his second career batting title in 2025, settling at .304. Best of all for fantasy managers, Turner added 17 steals to his 2024 total, with the 36 thefts last season representing the third-highest total of his illustrious career. He did that despite missing most of September with a hamstring strain. At 32 years old, Turner is not old enough to warrant the Ageless Wonder title, although he may earn it if he continues swiping bags at this rate into his mid-30s. The hamstring issues both of the past two seasons provide reason for skepticism, but Turner ranked at the very top of the sprint speed leaderboard last season and there is no reason to think the steals will dry up overnight, so long as he stays on the field. Availability remains the biggest concern, but Turner has surged past 600 plate appearances four of the past five seasons. He should continue to bat first or second for a top-five offense in the National League. Read Past Outlooks
Exits early after HBP
Turner exited Thursday's contest against the Mets in the third inning after suffering a right calf contusion, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Turner took a 79.2-mph sweeper from Sean Manaea off his right calf in the bottom of the first inning, and as a result, he was removed from the contest a couple frames later. The shortstop has now been forced out of two of the team's last four games due to hit-by-pitches. In his absence Thursday, Edmundo Sosa has shifted to shortstop while Justin Crawford has entered the lineup in the outfield. More information on Turner's status will likely be provided in the near future.

Turner missed more than six weeks of the 2024 season with a left hamstring strain, but he added almost 30 points back to his batting average to finish fourth in the National League at .295. He also fell just one stolen base shy of a fourth straight 20-20 season. His time with Philadelphia got off to a brutal start before a standing ovation amidst his struggles famously turned his 2023 season around. This past season was more in line with expectations -- including the IL stint. His walk rate dipped to just 5.0% and his barrel rate dropped by a point and a half to 6.9%. The advantage Turner used to provide in steals isn't as great anymore with his totals dropping back to the pack in recent years, but that's not to say Turner can't still be extremely valuable in fantasy baseball as he approaches his 32nd birthday in June. The shortstop hit exclusively in the two hole for the Phillies last season and is still surrounded by a good lineup to drive run-scoring opportunities.
