2026 Fantasy Outlook
Dodgers fans will forever remember Rojas for his dramatic game-tying solo home run with one out in the ninth inning during Game 7 of the 2025 World Series. Those heroics aside, it was mostly a nondescript campaign for the veteran infielder, as he posted a .262/.318/.397 slash line with seven homers, 27 RBI and five thefts over 317 plate appearances during the regular season. Rojas' value is almost exclusively tied to his glove -- he's hit double-digit homers just once in his career, which is also the number of times he's swiped double-digit bags and the number of times he's hit over .300. His defense remained rock-solid last season, as Rojas posted a fielding run value in the 80th percentile and a fielding range in the 90th percentile. That, along with his veteran leadership and newfound lore in Dodgers postseason history, is likely why the team brought him back for what he has stated will be his final MLB campaign. Rojas will likely serve in a utility infielder role again and carries very minimal fantasy value. Read Past Outlooks
Returning to lineup Wednesday
Rojas (personal) will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis
Rojas had been slated to start at shortstop in Tuesday's 4-1 win, but he ended up being scratched shortly before the game after learning of the sudden passing of his father. Though Rojas is back with the Dodgers and in the lineup Wednesday, he could go on bereavement list at some point in the coming days to tend to the personal matter.

Rojas' performance at the plate in 2024 was his best over a full season and he also graded out excellently on defense again at shortstop with a plus-11 Outs Above Average. The nice showing led to the Dodgers picking up his $5 million club option for 2025, but then the team announced shortly after that that it would be moving Mookie Betts back to shortstop in 2025. That leaves Rojas without a path to regular at-bats, although, at 36, the Dodgers are probably wise to limit his exposure. Even at his best offensively and when given ample playing time, Rojas has been little more than an empty batting average in his career.
