23-Year-Old Third Baseman3B
Colorado Rockies
2026 Fantasy Outlook
The progeny of Eric made it to the majors. Like his father, Kyle is large-framed, but that is where the comparison ends. The younger Karros has not hit for much power at the advanced levels of the minors and had just one home run in 156 plate appearances with the Rockies. His defense got him to Colorado, but his bat needs to show up to keep him there. He showed too much swing-and-miss for someone without power, especially on breaking pitches where he hit .163 with a 46.5 percent whiff rate when offering at those pitches. Until Karros shows some signs of life at the plate, it is best to find a way to avoid needing to consider him at your corner infield spot in deep NL-Only leagues this winter. Read Past Outlooks

Analysis
Karros got his first lineup omission of the season Sunday, but he started in all three games in the series versus Houston afterwards. The third baseman went 2-for-7 with four walks and an RBI in the three-game set that concluded Wednesday. With the 23-year-old on the bench again Thursday, Willi Castro shifts to the hot corner and Edouard Julien is starting at second base.

Shines in 2025 season
3BColorado Rockies
December 31, 2025
Karros was a breakout prospect in the Rockies organization during the 2025 season, according to Jonathan Mayo, Jim Callis and Sam Dykstra of MLB.com.
Analysis
Karros turned heads during the 2025 season, posting a .301/.398/.476 line mostly between Double-A and Triple-A. Based on the hitting conditions of the Eastern League, an .861 OPS at Hartford in Double-A is actually impressive. Karros eventually reached the majors in early August and is expected to be a regular fixture for the Rockies for years to come while playing third base.
