Gabriel Rincones

25-Year-Old OutfielderOF
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Rincones, who was added to the Phillies' 40-man roster this winter, has a chance to emerge as a strong-side platoon corner outfielder in 2026. Known for his monster raw power, the lefty-hitting Rincones had an .873 OPS against righties and a .323 OPS against lefties at Triple-A in 2025. His 22.5 percent strikeout rate was a career-best mark in full-season ball and it came in his first exposure to Triple-A pitching, which eases concerns about his hit tool translating at the highest level. Rincones moves well for his 6-foot-3, 225-pound frame, and he stole 21 bases on 26 tries last year, so he could chip in double-digit steals over a full season. It wouldn't be surprising if 2026 was an uneven year for Rincones as he potentially shuttles between Triple-A and the majors, but he turns 25 this spring, so he's theoretically entering his prime. Idle against lefty in series finale
OFPhiladelphia Phillies
July 6, 2026
Rincones is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.
Analysis
The Phillies will spare the left-handed-hitting Rincones from a matchup with a lefty starter (Noah Cameron) and will send him to the bench for the series finale in Kansas City. Edmundo Sosa will pick up a start in the corner outfield in place of the 25-year-old rookie, who is slashing .196/.222/.353 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs across 54 plate appearances since being called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on June 12.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Rincones is the son of a former minor-leaguer, but his upbringing actually involved an unusually small amount of baseball for a player who went on to become a third-round draft pick in 2022. Rincones spent much of his childhood in Scotland, where his father worked in the oil industry after an injury cut his playing career short. That gives reason to believe that the younger Rincones, a 6-foot-3 outfielder, could be a late bloomer. He has above-average raw power, but questionable pitch recognition led to a 25.1% strikeout rate across the Single-A and High-A levels in his first professional season. That came with a .248/.315/.427 slash line (good for a 115 wRC+), as well as 15 homers and 32 steals. There's just enough in Rincones' profile that suggests he could one day profile as a power-first corner outfielder, but that will require pitch-recognition improvements that keep his strikeouts in check as he rises through the minors.
