Marmoush came to City during the 2024/25 campaign and didn't slow down from his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, using his explosiveness and creativity to score seven league goals in 14 starts. He started more centrally when needed and on the wing toward the end of the season when Erling Haaland returned from injury. This is a spot that should remain going forward with Haaland taking most of the minutes up top. One question for upside will be a role on set pieces, something that doesn't seem to be decided at City sans Kevin De Bruyne. If Marmoush at least takes a split of sets when on the pitch, that would add another level to his offensive game in 2025/26.

He finished the game with five shots and created one chance, but his decision making let him down at key moments and prevented what could have been a more decisive contribution in front of goal. With New Zealand up next, the group's weakest defensive side on paper, the conditions should be considerably more favorable for him to get back among the goals at a moment when scoring could prove decisive in the race to top the group.
