Cucurella finally stayed healthy last season, appearing regularly and finishing with a career-best five goals and one assist from 33 starts. He won 45 of his attempted 67 tackles, continuing his defensive effort to go with a little more attacking upside. Left-back is one of the few positions that Chelsea have not gone to the market to freshen up the past couple years and that's because of Cucurella. While known more for his defensive ability, it wouldn't be surprising if his attacking output grew once again in 2025/26.
Late call against Fulham
Cucurella (hamstring) is expected to train on Tuesday and will be a late call for Wednesday's clash against Fulham, interim coach Calum McFarlane said in the press conference. Yes, [Marc is] training today. We are training in a few hours, and they will all be taking part in the session today. We will have a better idea [on availability] after the session. But at this point, nobody is ruled out. We will look at training, see how the guys look [after the session] and then make a call after that."
