Idrissa Gueye

Gueye played a massive role in Everton's midfield during the 2024/25 campaign, but that didn't always show up in the stats. He kept an impressive 11 clean sheets and recorded a career-high three assists, but he didn't score a goal in 37 appearances. He played mostly in defensive midfield so his attacking production was muted, but he was excellent on the defensive end. That's the role he's slated to play again during the 2025/26 campaign and similar results should be expected. Given that he's set to play nearly every minute of every match, he offers reliability and the promise of clean sheets, which is more than a lot of midfielders can say despite the lack of goalscoring upside.
