Gabriel Gudmundsson
27-Year-Old
Leeds United
Premier
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gudmundsson joins Leeds United as a replacement for the outgoing Junior Firpo, who was the main starter throughout their Championship run. Gudmundsson made 30 appearances for Lille last season, mostly as a full-back, creating 16 chances and taking 18 shots. The defender isn't likely to become a more productive option in the Premier League, but he does have a path to significant playing time if he can win the left-back job over Sam Byram. Despite the potential for minutes, there doesn't seem like a ton of offensive upside for Gudmundsson, even if Leeds play a more attacking system than Lille did.
Active at left-back
Gudmundsson logged two tackles won, two interceptions and one clearance during Sweden's 3-0 loss to France on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
For the World Cup, Gudmundsson's multiple tackles won and interceptions mark his tournament-high. Overall, the defender logged 10 clearances, four interceptions, three tackles won and three blocks. Each of Sweden's games included Gudmundsson, who logged different positions all but once. After the Netherlands hammered Sweden, he was shifted from wingback to center-back. Against the French, Gudmundsson only logged left-back minutes.
